I hope you can make it sometime.  The water is so clear and pretty.  We have a leak that we have to fix though.  Isn't that strange....a leak in a pond?  But we do.  I'mma have to put on a dive tank and go under and fix it somehow...before it causes our drive-way to collapse.

There's a trick where you can pull the bones out in one piece and then it's just yummy, yummy meats.

All those old fishing spots around the lake were an education. All the forensics. lol.

I always like to walk the pier at the beach too. Especially in the fall when they're really biting. Just being in the moment. People spend the night out there. Got the moon. Got the stars. Got the breeze and the pier gently rocking with the tide. Dang! Let's Go!!! lol

That's what I thought, too. Been awhile since I fished. I have a lot of memories with my old Pop. When I was a kid we used to shore fish at one of the local lakes and catch bream (what was I talking about hats for lol) crappie, perch (which Pop hated), catfish, occasional bass, shiners (which is a big gristlely minnow) (I can't spell it so what) and something we called a jack, which looked like a pike or something. A mini barracuda with the same teeth. Scary to look at. Not edible unless passing time in the official apocalypse.

That's so funny.  I used to sell small and medium sized shiners at my bait shop.  It wasn't until I was in my 40's that I realized that shiners got so big.  I had no idea.  I caught one behind my shop and sent a picture to my dad.  I knew he would know.  I was blown away that I didn't know that they got that big.  I found a good spot and started catching them in my cast net and selling them.  People loved using them to catch stripe.

Crappie over bream for sure....but I have shellcracker, too.  They put up a better fight than crappie.  So fun with the little lightweight combo I use.
