McGuire AFB ... first assignment. 3 1/2 yrs there and we loved it. An hour from Philly, and hour from the shore (b4 the casinos), 90 minutes from the city. Fresh vegetable stands all over the place. We rented a house on five acres in New Egypt. My wife worked at Great Adventure when they opened. WYSP, WMMR. Many friends. We all have grandchildren now. And I miss Lowell.

edit-j/k.Lowell George was one of my few heroes.I had to work the night he died right down the road and missed his last show.It still hurts.I also missed Little Feat the night I got home from boot camp by a few hours.

But the other Lowell sucks.

I saw him playing in a little dive bar in Wrightstown. he was dead 3 days later.
