London is cool just to get on a bus and see where it goes to.....museums, art, theatre, concerts, marjets, history....cool city 

We're planning on visiting Britain next spring for our tenth anniversary. Neither of us has ever been to Europe.

We'll be able to spend two full weeks "in country" - maybe a few days more. Since P has ear issues that can cause her quite a lot of pain when flying, we plan to book non-stop flights both ways. This will require us to use the airport in Dallas, because there are no non-stop flights from OKC. We'll fly into London, spend a few days there and then work our way west to Cornwall and Wales, possibly as far as Dublin. It makes sense to fly back from say Cardiff or Dublin, instead of wasting time traveling back to London for the return flight.

I know there are some pretty savvy international travelers here, any advice would be appreciated.

Fly over there with almost nothing in your luggage so you don't get charged an arm and a leg for all the crap you haul home. When we went, we brought back a crapton of books. Can't do that these days.

You might have to mail-order the phone, but you could have it sent to somebody local. Or go for one of the £20 options that they probably have hanging on pegboard by the spotted dick.
