We're planning on visiting Britain next spring for our tenth anniversary. Neither of us has ever been to Europe.

We'll be able to spend two full weeks "in country" - maybe a few days more. Since P has ear issues that can cause her quite a lot of pain when flying, we plan to book non-stop flights both ways. This will require us to use the airport in Dallas, because there are no non-stop flights from OKC. We'll fly into London, spend a few days there and then work our way west to Cornwall and Wales, possibly as far as Dublin. It makes sense to fly back from say Cardiff or Dublin, instead of wasting time traveling back to London for the return flight.

I know there are some pretty savvy international travelers here, any advice would be appreciated.

In Cornwall is a village called St. Ives.....old fishing village......there is a pub there called The Sloop....dates back to 1300-ish. The building only goes back to about 17-something, but nonetheless, a drink and plate of grub there is worth it just for the sense of history and the smuggling deals done and piracy actions planned in its darker corners....and low ceilings because folks were shorter back then....a car rental and drive to the site where Marconi first transmitted across the Atlantic is f interest if you like things radio, which you might...might as well go on from there to Land End....and a Cornish Cream tea anywhere along the way id ALWAYS worth it!
There is also a chapel St Uny nearby, dates back to about 1100....earlier actually if I remember correctly....like 900-something AD...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Uny%27s_Church,_Lelant

London is cool just to get on a bus and see where it goes to.....museums, art, theatre, concerts, marjets, history....cool city

I would go to the Laphroaig, Ardbeg & Lagavulin distilleries
and see Radiohead on June 23 at the Glastonbury Festival

You can fly there for $200 ea, so save the parking fee/hassle/time, spend another $200 to fly out of OKC. So worth it on the return leg, says me.

the phones I linked to are to purchase, so when you leave town you can give them to hoboes.

Fly over there with almost nothing in your luggage so you don't get charged an arm and a leg for all the crap you haul home. When we went, we brought back a crapton of books. Can't do that these days.

You might have to mail-order the phone, but you could have it sent to somebody local. Or go for one of the £20 options that they probably have hanging on pegboard by the spotted dick.

besides i want p to shoot a cell phone video of you standing on some craggy outcrop with the wind in your face and a solemn look in your in eye set to some hans zimmer soundtrack

then you do a 90 degree into the camera and tell us this is where it all started and how your forefathers were descendants of  king hywel dda and eeked out a living as rock farmers

you guys just have fun and get the raw footage

i have friends that are graphic ninjas that will edit it down to mini-masterpiece

sounds easy enough
