I'm shopping new phones and all the good android phones have gotten so big they are not really pocketable. I'm eyeing an iPhone 6 now. I really don't want to use iTunes, and all my music is in mp3 format. I see apps that will transfer mp3s and it looks like updates / backups can be done by other methods. Looks like most cloud services I'm using now are cross platform, and most of the apps I have are free or will let me re-download the apple version.  The charger ports are going to be a hassle, but that looks to be the major downside. Anything else I should consider?

I have no experience with other smart phones.

My phone is a few yrs old and really slow, and I want one that takes decent pics and plays my music, so I can have a camera and replace my ipod.

If you have the latest iphone, would you please share whether or not you like these functions on your phone? Is there another phone you would recommend?

Accidental and probably useless (but hey you never know) discovery: if you push the Home button whilst holding down the Sleep button, you'll hear the camera noise.  In fact, you'll find you've just taken a screen shot.  It's right there in your camera roll.  Weird.  Possibly useful.
