Well they made two attempts to land in Palm Springs.
When they flew over my house, the 747 was crabbing pretty aggressively into the wind...it didn't look real good.
They gave up and went to March Air Force Base in Riverside instead.
Then drove back to Rancho Mirage to Thunderbird Country Club were they are staying... and probably buying a house.

Not sure what the Obamas' long-term plans are, but they'll be staying in DC for two years, until their younger daughter finishes high school, in the Sheridan-Kalorama neighborhood. Beautiful area full of embassies, ambassador's residences and jes' plain rich folk. Lovely to walk there, but you almost never see anyone outside—a bit creepy. Apparently the Obamas are going to be living very near Ivanka Trump and her husband, who bought a place there after the Obamas did.
