MIracast is way to choppy and primitive for me.I've got  a mashup of stuff,with a WDTV player and gaziilions of USB devices,but tend to rely on the Roku.If I was used to Chromecast,I wouldn't be persuaded to take on any new tormenting technology that didn't do much different.I guess I'm in a downsizing mode.

If you're used to casting from your laptops and phones,I'd stick with Chromecast.I have 2 of them and seldom use them,but that's because I got them cheap after I was already accustomed to Roku,which does not put the stuff from your laptop on your TV.You can however,attach a USB device to a Roku and play stuff from it,but not most .wmv and some other files.
In short-I'd spend half the ~$40 on a new Chromecast,which you're use to,than twice that on a Roku.

I'm going to post a few pics of the tree tomorrow in the gardeners or help thread(due to sloppy maintenance and removal practices, the SD card filled up today after 3 pics right when the sun was in the only good spot).

Anyway,even better than not getting fried,I think also dodged a 4K tree removal charge.The bark is serious peeled,but after it hit the bolt went straight down into the ground at the base.

Glad it was only a near hit. Could have easily been no more bokey.{#No}

Anyway,the point I'd like to make is their customer service sucks.They act like giving out an RMA # is a crime against the state.

Fortunately,I'm such a goldmine to Amazon(where I bought it) that Amazon is overnighting me a replacement despite Roku's CSR douchery and it being outside Amazon's 30 return window.

Uh-oh!  "Nub"?  I guess that works.  Pips are on dominoes also.

As long as I'm complaining, my remote is very hard to use in the dark. I think I'll get some Krazy Glue and make a little pip* on the OK button because it's hard to locate, and our old one had the OK in the middle like yours.

Word geek time: I wanted to confirm that this is what those little F&J bumps are called in the industry but I can't find it. So the uninspired "bump" is most common, along with nub. But look —LOOK at this web page of ultimate whogivesashittyness: A Dictionary of Keyboards
