It is happening on earth and has been underway for quite some time. Runways have had their compass settings / headings updated frequently as of the past 20 years that I am aware of. Magnetic North has shifted drastically and the shift is accelerating. The fields are also weakening, leaving us vulnerable to solar and other forms of radiation. I just know this off of the top of my head.
It also has an effect on climate, but as we all know science says that all the changes we are worried about are caused by man, only. The cycles of the sun and other natural cycles have no effect on this they keep saying as the science is settled.
The CNN source you linked above is in direct conflict with NASA's findings about climate change and the poles shifting as you have already noted below. I did not click on any links before posting this. My bad. I just read what was already posted and discussed.
Could NASA be deliberately hiding important information, due to their own, strong dependence on political factions? If you care to read further into the study's abstract and compare that to the NASA article, you might just find some.
P.S. - Sorry, I misspelled NASA is a "natural authority" when meaning to say a "US national authority".
How could NASA "hide" information which is available to any astrophysicist or astronomer? It's out there - NASA does not control it. Why would NASA hide such information - what would be their motivation? "Dependence on political factions"? Are there political powers that are secretly reversing the Earth's magnetic polarity and don't want anyone to know?

I'd rather go with the Wikipedia entryâdespite a lot of wailing about it, on topics such as these, wikipedia tends to be a good summation of current thought.
And who do you think is editing Wikipedia articles? - The net (once again) seems to have been scraped of all the info available about this just a few years ago.
