So sorry to hear about your dog. My dog has had pancreatitis for a few years now. Its miserable for them. She has had 4 or 5 bouts of it. Hopefully your vet stressed a low fat diet (prescription). Good luck!

We took her to the vet in the a.m. and he knocked her out, cleaned up the nail, crazy glued it together because it was splitting up into the paw, gave her a shot of antibiotic and some pills, gave her a shot to bring her out of the anesthesia and sent us home: a little under $100. My sister's dog did the exact same thing and had the exact same treatment from a different vet: $280.
Some time ago Annabel was traumatized at the vet's office. We have since found a nice lady vet who makes house calls for no more than an office visit.

but if i thought she needed that i'd ring them up and score
i know dogs feel pain but they seem to express it less
not sure of the science on that
i've witnessed the vet give my dog a huge shot (relatively speaking) and she didn't flinch

Our friend got sprung from the hospital finally, so we are back down to two pups. I got used to having Poppy around, but am glad for them that they are back together.
