Strangely enough, that {#Arrowd} makes me think of another Vietnam movie other than"Platoon". It reminds me of the Matthew Modine characters quote in "Full Metal Jacket" about the duality of man.

 Of course, that probably comes from Charlie Sheen's closing monologue in "Platoon" about Barnes and Elias.

JS Bach's 329th birthday is red letter day for scholars and numerologists
Composer's playful interest in mathematics gets its own exhibition at museum in his home town of Eisenach
The 329th birthday of the composer Johann Sebastian Bach may not strike most people as a very significant anniversary, but for Bach scholars, 21 March this year will be a very special day. Some researchers claim that the Baroque composer had an obsession with the number 14, the sum of the numeric value of the letters in his surname (B+A+C+H = 2+1+3+8 = 14). The numbers 3, 2 and 9 also add up to 14 – and all this 14 years into the 21st century. Coincidence? (...)

My pleasure. And thank you for getting my curiosity piqued about "this masterpiece" which consequently turned out to be a great (new to me) piece of music, as well as a serious earworm! {#Mrgreen}

This is exquisitely beautiful.

Never ceases to amaze me that any guitarist can play two vastly different parts (arpeggio/tremolo) at the same time, as if there are two guitarists instead of one.

Once one gets past the title, this is one beautiful piece of music. And... OMG! I found the "perfect" version of it!

OMG OMG! I found the "best" version of Pachelbel's Canon! I'm on a roll! OMG!

Well... this might not be "perfect" or "the best" but it'll do. The first piece of classical music I fell in love with.
If you play this under candlelight in a calm and quiet place you can almost feel Beethoven's ghost reaching out across the ages.

The nicest rendition I've heard of this is performed by Thijs van Leer (flute), on his Introspection 2 album. I can't find it online for free.
Here's a nice piano rendition by Wilhelm Kempff...
