I decided to try out the video function on the camera I was borrowing (Justine has ours in California). Not sure what's up with the colors, but I like it! Audio leaves a lot to be desired, I probably should have covered the mic or something but hey. Only one broken string in this song, not quite up to par there.
Is it full of hiccups? Or is it just here? I may have to re-upload it tonite, sorry.
I have never seen, in my obviously sheltered and uncultured life... seen a cello played like that. I think my life is now complete.
Played fine here and now I know what you were up to all weekend.
Hey coaxial how are you i am fine i have to say that i can't stop smiling because of my job.
If you look in the Things That Make Me Smile thread from last night you are mentioned there, and I am still smiling myself. I know how happy you and your mom are and that makes me happy.
How I spent my weekend. Sean has all these thoughts doing battle to get out whereas my brain pretty much flatlines most of the day. I just must have had a permanent wtf look on my face.
What a great, great time we had this weekend! Thanks to Scott for the tip and the company. It was a wonderful weekend.
My musical favorites were Wilco and The Avett Brothers, followed by Kaki King and Son Volt. Henry Butler was a great start to the festival. The Avett Bros- what a remarkable surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll travel to see them, from now on! Wilco was so right on top of their sound. It was a blessing to be there. AND- to be front row was just a great added bonus. Next year, RP meet-up at Jackson Hole!

Seriously. Family-friendly, too. Lots of kids there, and little kids are free, under 16-ish are $10.

I didn't hose your post - it came that way. ha! I fixed it.
I LOVE THAT SONG! sorry for yelling, but I do - I even screech it out loud no matter who's around. What an incredible experience that had to be. lily & jimi, thanks. I thought maybe I was weird or something...
I didn't have my photo taken with them or get autographs, no. I did get some snaps of them onstage. I was going to try to write up a story but here's the basics:
After the festival was over, Robert Randolph and Ben Harper showed up at a local bar, and joined the house band for Bill Withers' "Use Me." A nice moment. Both are very nice guys, not too keen to talk to groupie types but enjoyed being in Wyoming and were happy to talk about that. Both very gracious, and quite reserved, even on stage in the bar. I was one of about 75 people there.
Woohoo!
I was one of maybe ten people who came by, and decided not to spend the three to nine bucks cover charge to get in. I'll always remember that moment.
Well it was maybe 3 minutes of "hey this is cool!", not a life-changing experience or anything. The house band was handling it just fine by themselves.
