A person doing a lot of that could invest in a CD-RW disc and have at it.

Primarily I buy used CDs from amazon but I also I buy 99 cent tracks from amazon. They're 256 kbs MP3s. And sometimes amazon doesn't even charge me.

*-this is a stab at the XXIA industry who has failed to make the transition into the modern digital realm with the rest of us. I actually applaud Apple for recognizing this opportunity. Unfortunately in typical Apple fashion, they have made it so that you are locked into their hardware platform and are paying a privilege for the opportunity to do business with them.  Closed systems are bad for consumers, a gilded cage is still a cage.
