Remembering D Boon, died this day in 1985, days after this album was released. I was on the air at KCPR when we heard. Campus was empty and we were trying to stay on the air, not shut down over the break, so a few of us were pulling long shifts, doing whatever we could.  An excellent excuse to play the whole album.

I've seen a lot of Rick Beato's videos; they're very informative.  A lot of info about music theory and production techniques without getting incomprehensible.  He does some cool ones called "What Makes This Song Great?"  where he breaks down the construction of the songs and plays the separate components.  Sometimes it's a song I like and sometimes it's not (Toto) but it's interesting stuff.  Here's a good one for Tears For Fears - "Head Over Heels".

I always felt that Knopfler had a sort of a stage confidence because he wasn't overly concerned with having a presence - he just played and sang - even in the days with the headbands.
