Must be one of those "overly organized and regulated EU" things... Here in California I can go to the chemical supply store and if I'm buying less than 5 lbs. I can just pay for the stuff and walk out... (of course, they do take my name and look at my drivers' license)

5 lbs. salt peter + 1 lb sulfur + 1 lb of charcoal briquets (well crushed and powdered) then mixed with water to make a slurry and spread upon an iron cookie sheet and let dry in a cool dry place and then carefully powdered and packed into cardboard tubes makes excellent fun... the only thing is that in order to buy the fuse necessary you need to file with the ATF and home-made fuse is never safe to use...

Sound like a lot of trouble. What are you, Guy Fawkes? Why not just got to the fairgrounds on July 4th.
