On a master naturalist outing today I met a friend of a friend, super nice guy, whose last name is the same as a classmate of mine from high school. Turns out my friend's friend is my classmate's older brother, AND was in my older brother's class. He knew my brother. When we realized this, I stood next to the trail and wept.

Saw a different eye doctor today (and had to wait nearly an hour!) but good news! The ulcer is pretty much healed, BUT there's some swelling (edema) that is causing about a 10% reduction in my vision in that eye. So, steroid drops added to the antibiotic drop cocktail. Good news #2 is that I don't have to put any drops in overnight. Hurray. A full night's sleep!

Friday update from the eye doctor. Progress, though slow. I have been able to dial back, a little on the frequency of the antibiotic drops but will still need to get checked again tomorrow. I’m grateful for a friend who gave me a lift to the grocery and drugstores Friday afternoon, and another one who is going to help me with some yard work this coming week. No contacts means no safety glasses! I've been napping a lot, but still getting good walks with Weezie, and I did a short workout this morning before brunch. Onward!
