The article is about how the conservative Supreme Court is about to make this a true Corporatocracy.   There is no better proof that we live in a Corporatocracy when we cant get a health bill passed when 75% of the people want a public health plan and 98 corporate bribed Senators dont.

you have a cartoon view of the republican party. and maybe they deserve it.
but most republicans i know are small businesspeople just wanting a bulwark against a massive controlling govt.
they don't think the govt should be allowed to take their money and property.
thats all. they are people.
your fear of corporations seems a little over the top. that is just my opinion...i could be wrong.

i think GM must feel a little hard done by...where is their control of the society?
they are done in by the market and by bad management, as it
should be. they effed up.

Now, if someone went all "Mark David Chapman" on Justice Scalia... that might re-balance the court...

Wooz... check out Sotomayor's stance vis-a-vis corporations. Nearly every single contest between citizens and corporations... she has sided with the corporations. Sotomayor is a mouthpiece of the Corporatocracy.

Interesting & thoughtful take here from John Feehery, a noted Republican strategist and former staunch supporter of Bailin' Palin.

Here's a snip....

I don't find myself disagreeing with Palin on any big issue, and during the campaign, I was one of her most vocal supporters. But the campaign is over, and in retrospect, I made a mistake. She doesn't have the experience, the temperament or the ability to be president.

The Republican Party doesn't do itself any favors by nominating people who pride themselves on being anti-intellectual or inexperienced. Governing is hard work. Having expertise is important. Having real experience is essential.

The Republican Party seems to be going through a cleansing process. Folks who would be president are dropping like flies, quitting their jobs or otherwise getting into a bizarre scandal of one kind or another.

But America has done as well as it has over the last couple hundred years because it has a vibrant two-party system that keeps the party in power honest. So, the Republican Party will eventually come back. It may take a while, but the Democrats will overreach, or under-reach, or fail or fall victim to its own scandals.

I think Palin's resignation is a good sign for the GOP. We can now move on to more serious candidates for the White House, and we can shift the focus from her reality-TV-like life to more serious issues that face the country.

Palin is right: She has been a distraction. Now, it is time to focus less on her soap opera and more on where the Obama administration really wants to take this country and how the Republican Party can come up with superior alternatives that will keep America strong.

Agreed on both counts.    If anyone could make John McCain look spritely, it would be Dick Cheney.  And SP has only just begun to commit political suicide.

I bet FOX will do a Palin Family 5 reality show that will show her at the kitchen table preaching to her family and preparing for the 2012 election. It will be a major hit and she'll win in a landslide.
