Well the original wheels and tires were rated for about 45 mph.
When it was being unloaded from the transport back in 2005, the original rear end locked up.
His process from the beginning was to build it with late model running gear. Not a spot on restoration. He wants to drive it... not trailer it.
Those tires were picked because they're pretty much the same diameter as the stock military issue ones.

After fabbing, welding, bending, beating, flaring, priming, sweating,  burning, wiring, freezing most every thing.  My son got to drive his '41 Power Wagon out of his shop today.
Now there still is quite a bit more work to get it really street ready.

That thing sounds AMAZING!

It has my old stroker 440 I built in '91 in it that has over 140,000 miles on it.
His intentions are to use it for mock up. Drive it around a bit before building his own for it.

You would not have done well where I grew up on the Ashley river.  They were just river dogs to us except they ate a lot of our dogs.  This picture was taken recently in Moncks Corner a few miles up the road from where I grew up.  Gators did not used to be so polite, they just normally didn't want anything to do with you.

I would check with the first mate about what drugs she's putting in your coffee. I'm available for consultation. Give her my number.
