I have to have the lights on in the house at midday, it's so dark.
This is really what the backyard looks like. It smells not too bad, so it's all happening up at higher elevations. And we're not in any danger ATM.
But, man, this is the worst I've ever seen.
Same here but the fire is almost to our house. Can't go out because of all the ash. I'm hoping is doesn't hurt my hawk who has a mew that will protect her from the ash but not the air quality.
Ash and orange darkness like a dread pall over Northern Cali. Almost an inch of ash on our cars. Hoping like heck we don't have to evac. We have too many animals to have to leave the house. But the fire is encircling Horrorville Oroville. Luckily they haven't cut our power yet. Send us some positive vibrations please!
I’ve been thinking about you all so much! Sending much love and good vibes. Stay safe!

What a horrible no good rotten day.
Yesterday it was like that here. We got a wind shift with nice dry cooler air. So today it's the nicest its been in quite a while. Hang in there... the days are getting shorter and it'll snow soon.

We live far enough from the stuff that burns that we get smoke, but rarely get socked in anything like that. This reminds me of "fire camp" during 1988. Visibility was about 100' some days. And my job was picking up cigarette butts. Yes, the crews smoked during a wildfire.

Tires don't look original.
It's going to be a nice ride.
Well the original wheels and tires were rated for about 45 mph. When it was being unloaded from the transport back in 2005, the original rear end locked up. His process from the beginning was to build it with late model running gear. Not a spot on restoration. He wants to drive it... not trailer it. Those tires were picked because they're pretty much the same diameter as the stock military issue ones.

After real close to 15 years from the time he bought it from a farmer in Oklahoma... to today.
After fabbing, welding, bending, beating, flaring, priming, sweating, burning, wiring, freezing most every thing. My son got to drive his '41 Power Wagon out of his shop today. Now there still is quite a bit more work to get it really street ready.
That thing sounds AMAZING!
It has my old stroker 440 I built in '91 in it that has over 140,000 miles on it. His intentions are to use it for mock up. Drive it around a bit before building his own for it.
