This was my Dad's '57 gold and white Plymouth Fury Later on in the 80's I bought this red/white one with the intent of giving it to my Dad for his birthday as he always said how he missed his. But he would not accept it from me...So I ended up trading it for a '24 Model T Ford....

I wouldn't mind having my 55 Imperial back. The factory AC would freeze your nuts off even on the hottest day in Phoenix....

If you had the stones to even give it a shot, I think the only problem your skivies would have is the seams letting loose from being pulled so tight.

Right? And odd to think how ridiculously low the rpms must have been. An odd time for the advance of go fast technology. But it had more then enough torque to turn whatever outrageous tranny/rear end ratio that thing had. Also notice its chain drive and no chain guard. If that chain snapped it would have sliced the driver in half.

The article islander linked has some good comments. One dude mathed it all out and figured at idle the thing's spinning something like 180 rpm. Also, 4 valves per cylinder, multi spark ignition and an overhead cam. It was a long time until that stuff made it to the mainstream.
