New York (CNN) — Are you tired of the extremes dominating the debate? Angry about hyperpartisans hijacking American politics? Well, Jon Stewart has a rally for you and me.

Among the signs suggested for the rally:

— "I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler"

— "9/11 was an outside job"

— "Got Competence?"

— "I'm not afraid of Muslims, Tea Partiers, Socialists, Immigrants, Gun Owners or Gays ... but I am scared of spiders."

I love Stewart and Colbert.  I think they genuinely care, and it's not just a way to hugely boost their popularity (did they need to?)

Can you imagine how awesome the crowd will be!!!

I have been subtly trying to coax J into making the 13 hour drive to go to this, but I don't think it's gonna happen. What a great opportunity to feel some good vibes instead of all the horrible negativity.

I'm gonna get a sixer of some good beer, get out my Matchbox cars, have a parade in my living room and listen to the speeches on podcast while waving an American flag...  Perhaps a kazoo on which to play "America The Beautiful"  when the mood strikes me.

Jon Stewart presents a more liberal view, and Stephen Colbert plays more of a Bill O'R type of a guy, and it is satire.

ah, ok...satire is good stuff if done in good taste...it helps jab fun at ourselves, our systems, our leaders, our would be leaders...a long tradition of doing that...that helps keep us collectively sane.

Watch the Daily Show on the night of his announcement (you can find it online) and find out for yourself. It's actually quite sane, to bring together moderates and as kind of a pep rally for those who are sick of the political bullshit.

And then Steven Colbert is having a competing Keep Fear Alive rally.

It's all for fun, and I am sure it will be a hoot.

I think you have to be familiar with the shows to actually get it.

Thanks.  I don't watch either, and I know they're satirists, so I wasn't sure what they were going for with this.  I knew they were taking a poke at Beck, but that was all I got.

I was most definitely asking seriously and not to stir anything up.

oh...no prob. Nothing was stirred! Its for realz. Gonna a be a million people there! (well, maybe a couple thousand... but still)...
