A 10 is a track that I will stop what I'm doing to listen to.

I have several. And it's because the songs transported me into a better place. Always. To a better place in my own past or my future - even sometimes the present. There aren't many.

10 - Pink Floyd - Welcome To The Machine
Quintessential Floyd, this song has, for me, the capacity to both evoke memories and feelings of yore and at the same time to stimulate new non-cognitive associations. By weaving both past and present together, in my realm of experience, it becomes a vehicle for time travel via an expansion of the senses.

This, I guess, is a new topic. For whatever reason, you ventured over to the music forums and tagged a song with a "10" rating.  Why?

I'll start:  I had never heard Turin Brakes before, and then I listened to "Sea Change" (and gave it a 10) and I realized there are a lot of 10-songs out there. Hence, this new post.  Tag.  You're it. Post your "10" song and why it's a 10.
