That is a ripe old age.

I met my Norwegian great grandmothers when they were both in the their mid-90s at my Uncle and Aunt's farmhouse near Hamar. I was 7 or 8 and painfully embarrassed and recall not wanting to spend time with them. Still feel bad about that almost 60 years later.

My quebecois mother-in-law died in early July of this year. She underwent the MAID — medicial assistance in dying — when the lung cancer started to ravage her entire body. We both held her hands as she passed away. I stopped checking in on her two weeks later.

Time heals. Slowly.
