Hmmm. We are sitting here at the dining table planning an April trip with the kids to Greece.
They will be in the states from early July until August 1 or August 15, depending on some things. Maybe we could talk them into going to the PNW instead of rural Pennsylvania to hang with their cousins.

It's just that the HJ clan was thinking of coming to the NW and we were thinking of going there too, and at about the same time, so armed with that knowledge, people who are also thinking of a PNW trip this summer... it only makes sense to coordinate a little and invite others... But get your meetup thread going and bump it so people can remember it. And if you really want to do it up right, it needs a graphic! You volunteering? Edit: Ours hasn't been set , beyond the fact that we announced it and the dates.... I promised further planning after new years. I have to get with Kat and BDH so we can plan a bit and announce some things. We have vague plans for housing, activities, and things like that which require further investigation.

Seems like too much for one short period of the year and people will be forced to choose one or the other. Or do we just do both? I know a handful of folks are already making plans to be here. We'll be carrying on with our party plan regardless, may just cancel the meet-up portion of it, if its too many at once.

(but, then again the title here of this thread is july/aug 12...am i missing something?)
I think this started from us making vacation/visiting relatives plans. We're able to take the kids out of school for very restricted periods so we're only really able to travel July/early August and thought it would be nice (and economical) to do a house swap either in the Rockies or the PNW (both places we have wanted to visit) and hopefully visit one from the other and getting to say "hi" to any RPeeps we come across while we do so. We haven't fixed any swaps yet, so our plans are still to be decided...

We didn't do a house swap this year so I'm a year behind. It's not the cleaning that takes time, it's taming cupboards and drawers and getting little DIY jobs caught up on. If I was a visitor to our place I'd want the shower door handle to exist on both sides of the door. Currently in the so called study . I put a few of my fathers boxes in there and it was like a magnet for all the other crap in the house. New computer planned once the study is sorted though.
