Hi Bill,

RP continuing to provide great music at this much needed time, thankyou.

On the page that has the RP FLAC links you say “These links currently do not currently include stream metadata (song title info). Not our choice. We would if we could.”

I wanted to let you know of a FLAC station stream that does include metadata. It’s Radio Bluesflac from Spain. It’s the only one I know of that does and I’m not sure what they are doing right, but it results in clickable links on Roon’s Now Playing page. It would be great to have this for the RP FLAC streams.

Edit: I understand that Radio Bluesflac uses Rocket Streaming, same as RP.

Tried that. Their FLAC stream was unlistenable (sounds like they're overloading their connection) & had no metadata. Perhaps what you're getting isn't really their FLAC stream, or perhaps they're having an issue at the moment.

Not familiar with the Rocket server. We use Icecast. I'll check it out.

Love listening to your FLAC streams on my Raspberry Pi with my custom system.   Am using Linux mplayer with ALSA DSP LR4 crossovers on three way speakers.  Awesome!

Yes, it is breaking up for me at the moment too. Was working well earlier today in Australia. May be a congestion issue in Spain at this time of day.

I’ve been told that it is support for ‘icy-metadata’ that is the reason Bluesflac is getting metadata into a FLAC stream with Rocket. Not sure if Icecast supports that or not.

I just wanted to note that FLAC streaming works well on a Raspberry Pi from the command line using omxplayer.

$ omxplayer —vol -3000 http://stream.radioparadise.com/flac

I add the "—vol -3000" parameter to start playing a bit quieter and then adjust volume using +/- keys. There are also parameters to force HDMI or analog audio out.

Currently, '/electic-flac'. We'll be updating it soon, but that will continue to work.

Low = 32k, Med = 64k, High = 128k. All AAC.

As noted, that app is no longer being supported or updated. Our web player is a much better bet.

SONOS Port:
Ordered one of these and should have it tomorrow. Everyone is aware that SONOS uses Tune In for some of their streaming and Tune In does not support FLAC.
The SONOS Port allows you to connect third party devices to the SONOS ecosystem. I plan to, at first, use my android phone to verify I will be able to play RP FLAC streams. Have been using the AAC 320.
SONOS does not go beyond 16/48 FLAC....

My MacMini (Mid 2010) on El Capitan, has decided to stop playing FLAC. ULTRA quality is the highest that will play.
My iMac (Late 2015) on Mojave plays ALL quality levels. So I assume my home network is OK.
MM is USB to Chord 2Qute ito HiFi system, iMAC is via a USB Cambridge Audio DacMagic 100 and into HiFi.

Any ideas ?

I stream flac through Logitech Media Server and for the past several days (and periodically over time) the server pulls a set of cached songs (normal) and then loops through it. Developers of the LMS add-on say they have seen this also and can't figure it out based on the tech they control. Is there anything about the RP streaming server that might be contributing to this?
