I lived in California all my life. Real close to 70 years now. And her record is what you could call weak.
Look it up.

I stand corrected. Sorry. I don't understand your dislike for her politics. Or maybe for her record.

She seems basically like the rest of the conservative wing of the Democratic party, like what Republicans used to be. Much like Biden and Hillary. With probably more management skills.

See how angry people would be if it was OK for her to be in line to replace the President and then, now, she's not qualified to be President, really?
True or not, it would start the anti-women, anti-person of color complaints, too.
From what we usually see, political parties choose who's next in line. If not her (or hillary) then who? I have my faves, of course.
To put it simply... I don't care what color her skin is. I have, nor will ever be a racist. I judge people by what they produce in their lives.
That said... I get angry at many white people.
And I don't look at her gender. I prefer woman over men. And I'm not scared of LGBT people.

Her performance.. or lack of it... is what I'm concerned about.

That's always a given. But appealing to Electoral Votes is not the way to win. Democrats won on popular last time.

States are constitutionally meant to logistically manage and execute elections. It is NOT meant for them to decide who can vote and how hard or easy it can be.
We're talking old, yes, dare I say it, suppressive 'jimcrow' stuff here.

Aw hell no. Too 'libral' CA for most tastes. I'm thinking Gretchen Whitmer or Governor Roy Cooper of NC (also a long term, highly successful Prosecutor)
The two of them could chop the other team into toppings at Subway.

Third, Harris is far more articulate and succinct than Biden, as she demonstrated in dissecting the Trump agenda during an appearance in North Carolina on Thursday. In the same vein, the vice president has been a passionate and compelling advocate for reproductive freedom (a topic Biden seems uncomfortable discussing), evidenced in dozens of her speeches and public appearances. She wields her experience as a prosecutor who handled sex crimes to excoriate forced-birth advocates for telling rape and incest victims they “have no right or authority to decide what happens" to their bodies. (She says flatly: “That’s immoral.”)

Fourth, Harris is uniquely capable, given her prosecutorial background and her role on the Senate Judiciary Committee, to run against a radical Supreme Court that is at the lowest level of approval in history. She has the verbal acuity, for example, to denounce the wide grant of criminal immunity to presidents, the evisceration of voting rights and the substitution of a judge’s discretion for experts’ judgments in the administrative state.

Fifth, to the extent that Biden saw erosion in his support among younger voters (including non-White voters), Harris offers the energy to engage and excite them, as seen on her college tours, where she has spoken to standing-room-only crowds on issues that affect their generation in particular (e.g., gun violence, climate change, abortion rights).

Perfection should not be allowed to become the deflection here, nor should closeted misogyny.
There is little time to find the perfect gem. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Okay, now here’s a strategy (which, like my “announce during the RNC and steal Trump’s thunder” will be completely ignored):
Kamala + Pete. Run that for 8 years. Then,
Pete + someone. For another 8 years.
Result would be 16 years of normalcy while the GOP collapses in on itself trying to find more amoral, draft-dodging, hypocritical, talentless, “Christians” to run against them.

And Kamala is the answer for talent?

FTA: “The Republican Party and its conservative allies are engaged in an unprecedented legal campaign targeting the American voting system. Their wide-ranging and methodical effort is laying the groundwork to contest an election that they argue, falsely, is already being rigged against former President Donald J. Trump.”

Republicans Pursue Plans to Contest a Trump Defeat

FFS, people. You’re a bunch of crybaby losers. Quite the opposite of Gore and Hillary - both of whom won the popular vote and would‘Ve been better leaders.
