I agree, but reserve the right to point out the hypocrisy.
The reporter most definitely had a director shouting in her ear. Networks take that stuff seriously, because as I said, if that reporter had used that language, there are organized groups taking notes and writing letters to the FCC. Both the FJB chanting and the FCC letter-writing come from the same voting bloc.
You are so right. Unless you have been on-camera, IFB in ear, massive crowd noise and a job to do NOW you wouldn't understand. Others can 20/20 all they want but she did a good job.
My advice to my friends on the left: suck it up. Quit whining about this. The Other Team put one up on the boards, deal with it. This has been a legitimately brilliant bit of grass-roots political theater.

They're saying it has nothing to do with Joe Biden, it's about how the press lies to us... when the reporter made up that "let's go brandon" thing to cover for what the crowd was shouting.
By the way, I guarantee you that if she'd said to Brandon, "ha ha they're shouting Fuck Joe Biden really loud, huh?" she'd have been fired on the spot, because everyone knows that's not okay, but her trying to save the piece and cover her station's ass for airing the chant was actually pretty frickin' heroic.
Why did she need to acknowledge what the crowd was chanting at all? She was interviewing someone who had just won a race and the crowd was hijacking his moment for their own purposes. It was perfectly obvious what was going on, she didn't need to comment. Unless she really is so dim she thought they actually were chanting "Let's go Brandon!" in which case...whatevs.

Compare it to, say, Dan Savage's crowdsourced defamation of Rick Santorum—this is a more genuinely spontaneous expression. Maybe you can provoke something similar at a Met gala or on the red carpet at the Golden Globes or something, but I doubt it. Lightning struck. It hit your side. Get over it.
