This countdown is really picking up speed... 88 days away. We have a place to stay in Austin before, then Galveston 1 night, New Orleans 2 nights. A day or two meandering up to Shreveport, then to Tulsa and OKC, then home. Probably about 16 days worth of roadtrip.
My Google maps has pins in it for about 30 microbreweries and a dozen museums and points of interest, including
Buddy Holly in Lubbock
Bob Dylan in Tulsa
Woody Guthrie in Tulsa
Louisiana Hayride in Shreveport
Highway 61
Natchez, MS and Faraday, LA (Jerry Lee Lewis et al)
It's tempting to roam around Mississippi looking for locations from O Brother. Itta Bena and Yazoo City but then I'd probably fall into jackin' up banks.
So if y'all got any must-sees let me know!
We're planning to pack up the van and head to family in Ohio. Seems like somewhere along the way our 2 paths could cross (EUG - OHIO), (POWELL - TX-OK) - the two lines do cross.

It would be, but I don't have one of those right now. Our non-floaty southern compound is a little too far North (just barely). Definitely on the we should really try to make it list for next year, but there is some good competition. A Dallas trip mashup might tilt the scales.
If you have a floaty house, I think being off the coast of Mazatlan would be great though.

I was just looking at this last week. We were talking about Durango Mexico, but I'm overdue for a trip to Dallas so that might be in the works as well.

The FromWyomings will be traveling to Llano, Texas for this one... anyone else care to join in?
