Most orb spinning spiders, the female looks upon the male as a date and dinner.
almost every species the male is much smaller. He often has to decide between sex and being dinner. But that urge is. irresistible.
Meanwhile big Mama knows this.
She will actually 'bob' her abdomen up and down to entice the male to come closer.  Toward doom or lucky escape.
Thus the popular song amongst the hip arachnid set...

"I like big butts and I'm willin to die!"

Probably already posted here somewhere but the reason a 'shot' of liquor is called a shot:
Because quite often cowboys would blow all their pay in town and the only thing left they could barter whiskey for were bullets.
One bullet cost about the same as a small glass of whiskey.
Thus, the words "Gimme a 'shot.'"

How is it that leaving your interior lights on can entirely drain a honkin' big car battery? Inquiring minds want to know.

Seems minimal to most, but yes, the damn things DO drain a battery. However, using turn signals while driving does not.

Uninterruptedly since the 6th century, the Japanese throne has been occupied by a member of the same family. The present emperor, Naruhito, is the 126th in succesion.

You need to go back.

Back to 1974.

To find a May that was colder than May 2019, here in my neck of the woods.
