Naw, I do a Mozback up every couple days. I did a defrag yesterday, so I'm boinked on a system restore. I've got an image from a couple days ago, but I'm bugging on how the tabs don't behave.

$20 please.  Or pay part of my tab with SFW by shipping him some fine beer.

The prob is I go to tools, reset to a simple 1 tab homepage and it doesn't take.
It reopens all my last tabs and I cut my Session Manager add on off.

Anyone else getting all their last tabs opened instead of their homepage since the 2nd to last update?

to them it's all a huge collection mechanism

the upside, if it happens, is that it will make it more effective/secure in general

Tor executive director hints at Firefox integration?

Is this how the mainstream finally begins to win back its online privacy?

The Tor anonymity network may soon expand to hundreds of millions of new users around the world as the software’s developers prepare to scale to a “global population. ”

Several major tech firms are in talks with Tor to include the software in products that can potentially reach over 500 million Internet users around the world. One particular firm wants to include Tor as a “private browsing mode” in a mainstream Web browser, allowing users to easily toggle connectivity to the Tor anonymity network on and off.

“They very much like Tor Browser and would like to ship it to their customer base, ” Tor executive director Andrew Lewman wrote, explaining the discussions but declining to name the specific company. “Their product is 10-20 percent of the global market, this is of roughly 2. 8 billion global Internet users. ”

That ranges from 280 million people to 560 million. While it stands to reason that not all of those people would be using the “private browsing mode” all the time, even a fraction of these numbers represents a potentially huge increase in size for the Tor network.

The product that best fits Lewman’s description by our estimation is Mozilla Firefox, the third-most popular Web browser online today and home to, you guessed it, 10 to 20 percent of global Internet users.

Mozilla, one of the biggest and most influential tech nonprofits ever, offers Firefox as a free, open-source, privacy-friendly alternative to browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.

If implemented effectively, Tor would be a major privacy upgrade over Firefox’s current private browsing mode which “allows you to browse the Internet without saving any information about which sites and pages you’ve visited. ”

I thought the Ad Block was interesting because it affected Firefox much more than the other browsers they tested. Firefox seemed to be the biggest resource hog also. I don't notice any slowdown with Sophos on my Hacintosh but I am using an SSD and a 4 core cpu at 3.45ghz. I did a clean install of Mavericks on it a few weeks ago and its like going back to floppies booting of a regular hard drive now. Damn thing boots up in about 10 seconds now. I just updated to 10.9.3 today and it seems they fixed the slow wi-fi issue that some people like me were having from 10.9.2. I still like Snow Leopard best overall for responsiveness etc though.

Using AdBlock Plus may be what’s slowing your Firefox browsing session to a crawl

Yes Chrome is definitely faster at rendering websites etc. But the killer for me was that after the last update when I watch streaming video on Hulu the audio is no longer synced with the video. Safari and Firefox its fine and it used to be fine with Chrome. I tried reinstalling the latest version of Chrome from dead scratch, deleted its prefs and all and it still does it, This is on 10.8.2 Mavericks. That and Chrome still has the back button problem here at RP.
And the update before that broke Silverlight so no Netlix. That was fixed with the last update but now the Hulu streams are messed up.
