Nope. The racist, elitist, inhuman and selfish polices of Trump don't deserve to be considered on an equivalent with just about anyone else's views and we don't let them have an equal footing.

Clearly repudiate white supremists, including Qanon; express regret about the misogynist and vulgar things said about women; admit that the pandemic management was bungled and you're regretful, and then people might consider Trump to be someone that they'd be willing to have a discussion with.

Remember, he said it himself: he's not a politician, and therefore was unqualified for the job from the beginning.  Does the architect agree that the person making his lunch deserves an equal say in the construction of a home? Why not? It's because he doesn't know enough and wasn't trained enough to be able to do the job.

Trump was completely unprepared to do anything but wear the shiny President suit and insist on applause - and is unable to do the learning and critical thinking that the job requires. He's been an abject failure. So no hand shaking and "well, you have a point there."

That's a false equivalency, and a photo like this is just ignorant of that reality.

I figured as much, but I'm inclined first to offer the benefit of the doubt. Oh well.

Yeah I figured you were incapable of actually having a conversation. As I noted below, I live in a state where each human is represented by about 1.3 Electoral College votes, but 17 miles to the north of me, a person who lives there gets about 0.7 of 1 vote. So just looking at that, you're saying Montana and Wyoming should both be happy that we have the Electoral College? Please explain to me why that is.

Further, the guy in Wyoming who goes down and votes for Trump can feel happy that his Electoral College delegates will all go for Trump. But should he feel happy? He could have gone fishing, the outcome would be the same. I could vote twice; every Democrat or Libertarian in the state could vote twice, and the Trump voter can still go fishing and not worry about it. Half of the Trump voters could go fishing, and our 3 delegates would all vote for Trump. What a meaningless exercise voting for president is! And 12 million Californians identify as Conservative. Do they have any say in who becomes president? Nope. California's huge delegation casts its votes as though every single voter in the state——including those 12 million conservatives——voted for the Democrat.

Strategically, the GOP might like the Electoral College because it's working for them right now, so I'm sure those John Birchers sleep well knowing that Trump is president despite the fact that the elector who represents them voted for Clinton.

The worst thing about the Electoral College, to my mind, is that this charade depresses turnout. That doesn't affect the presidential contest, but down ballot races it does.

So again, I ask if you can explain why I should feel good about the Electoral College.

It's really too bad that politics in 2020 has become so partisan.

The electorate is outraged. Dem voters in 2016 are now voting for Trump.  Reluctant Trump voters in 2016 state they will walk through fire or broken glass to vote for Trump in 2020.

And you think Harris/Biden are going to win, or even have a ghost of a chance?  Your either really poorly informed, or outright delusional.

Also - have you seen the turnout for the Harris events in the last days?  Or the turnout for Obama's appearances today?  lmao  The 2020 Trump landslide will be one for the ages.

And in 2024, you know he'll announce he's staying in office another eight years! Because that's how Democrat delusions work.

“Can you imagine if I had a secret Chinese bank account?” he said. “Can you imagine if I had secret Chinese bank account when I was running for re-election?” His voice straining, he added, “They would’ve called me Beijing Barry.”

“By the way, his TV ratings are down,” the former president said. “So you know that upsets him. But the thing is, this is not a reality show. This is reality. And the rest of us have had to live with the consequences of him proving himself incapable of taking the job seriously.”

“Eight months into this pandemic, cases are rising again across this country,” he said. “Donald Trump isn’t suddenly going to protect all of us. He can’t even take the basic steps to protect himself.”

It's one of those ideas that the founders could not have wrapped their heads around 240 years ago. The US had 2.5M residents.  If you would have told them the US would be 4 times larger in size and 132 times larger in population, they would not have believed you.

The founders never wanted a government where every person has equal representation (ignoring 3/5th), they wanted a balance of state vs. federal and a way for small states to have a chance a getting a fair shake.  VA, PA, and MA would have decided everything.

I would agree that some changes should be made, but the notion that things are unreasonably unfair isn't really true.  Based on populations (as noted in the visualization I posted below), only 18 of the 50 states would require a change of more than 1 person (+ or -) to be completely "fair".  It's actually pretty impressive when you consider how incredibly the country has changed.

The one thing I believe the founders would do is grant the people of DC representation.  They have more residents than 2 states...it's kinda silly they don't have Senators but Wyoming with 20% fewer people has 2.

Delighted by the political mood in the US, the Kazakh president would like to formalise a union. Borat must make an appropriate gift: offering Mike Pence his 15-year-old daughter, Tutar. (...)

Still, we are all judged by our endings and the film has a doozy — a gleaming glacé cherry of humiliation in clown-nose red, starring Giuliani. By now Tutar has transitioned into an anti-lockdown pseudo-journalist, interviewing the onetime New York mayor as he holds forth on Chinese villainy and Trumpian heroics. To describe what follows in the hotel suite would be a spoiler. Suffice to say, it feels at once inevitable and still remarkable to see on screen. Bakalova, like Baron Cohen, is expert at Going There. Giuliani, having gone along, should probably now stay put.

Win-ner!

Rudy Giuliani faces questions after compromising scene in new Borat film

Trump’s personal attorney has indiscreet encounter with actor playing Borat’s daughter in hotel room during pandemic

The reputation of Rudy Giuliani could be set for a further blow with the release of highly embarrassing footage in Sacha Baron Cohen’s follow-up to Borat.

In the film, released on Friday, the former New York mayor and current personal attorney to Donald Trump is seen reaching into his trousers and apparently touching his genitals while reclining on a bed in the presence of the actor playing Borat’s daughter, who is posing as a TV journalist.

Following an obsequious interview for a fake conservative news programme, the pair retreat at her suggestion for a drink to the bedroom of a hotel suite, which is rigged with concealed cameras.

...

Even before he reaches into his trousers, Giuliani does not appear to acquit himself especially impressively during the encounter. Flattered and flirtatious, he drinks scotch, coughs, fails to socially distance and claims Trump’s speedy actions in the spring saved a million Americans from dying of Covid. He also agrees – in theory at least – to eat a bat with his interviewer.

All this does is distort state boundaries, which are a construct, and irrelevant to the idea of one person = one vote.
It's mind boggling that the electoral college is still there to thwart the will of the people, the will of the majority.

There are more people in CA, TX, FL, and NY - and suddenly their votes are worth less because of...geography? Because there are large portions of the US that aren't settled with people, but have farms and forests and deserts?

"Oh, but then the people in CA and NY have enough votes to run the country." Well, that's fine since they are most of the country.

I believe you just validated the rational for the existence of the Electoral College.  Congrats on the self-own.
