I donât like the man on second in extra innings. Maybe in the 12th and beyond. Next thing theyâll be juicing the ball.
I agree, it makes the manager's job in the 7th inning, for example, less challenging. It makes extra innings a lot less interesting. Might as well just flip a coin and send everyone home.
If it were me I would opt for either the 11th or 13th instead of the 12th because day baseball.
The idea would have me/us flying in separately on Friday, giving me 2 hours to get off the tarmac and into a seat. Throw in coordinating with Justine's arrival and I don't like that. Maybe Sunday is doable.
I have $$$ credit from a covid-canceled trip last year; trying to come up with a good way to burn it before it's gone. Flights are cheap! For some reason...
I wouldn't stop there. I have been singularly unimpressed with all the roster moves this winter top to bottom. I don't think the stove's been this cold for the Cubbies since that 2012-2014 period I don't like to think about.
Single game tickets have not gone on sale yet. I'm not even sure if players and owners have finalized the 2021 rules yet. The last I heard it was going to be runners on 2nd in extras and 7 inning double headers again, but mercifully no NL DH this year. I'm not sure that's final though. They usually go on sale sometime toward the end of February or first of March and they will announce when about a week before. It has been my habit to post a link here when they make the announcement for the benefit of all concerned. If it were me I would opt for either the 11th or 13th instead of the 12th because day baseball.
Did you get your Ballpark Inspection documents this year? There's a very small nonzero chance Justine and I will find ourselves in Chicago along about June 12...

I'm kind of on the fence about this one but I don't have a dog in the hunt so I should shut up. Chief Wahoo and the rest of the imagery is where it gets bad. As opposed to the Redskins, where the logo was respectfully done by a Blackfeet leader.
I like the "Washington Football Team" change but it's going to be ridiculous if any other franchise follows that line of thinking.
I vote for Cleveland Rocks.
There was a Cleveland Spiders baseball team in the late 19th century - cool name.
That's a pretty awesome name. Wiki: Longest winning streak their last year: 2 games. They achieved that one time. Cy Young started with them. They're the reason there's a rule against owning more than one team.
I think they should return to their last name....The Naps... named for Hall Of Fame player and manager Nap Lajoie. Spiders is fine too. I'd also go for the Browns...get that whole 2 sport, 1 name thing working again. Cardinals...Giants...why not Browns?
They could use the HOF branding and be the Rockers. Or maybe the Rockettes
Ah.
Colorado already owns the Rockies, the Rockpile, lots of things to do with rocks, so it probably won't go so well. Of course, I hate the Rockies' name so maybe we can get them to take the Gray Jays or Camp Robbers like I wanted in the first place.
But I see Beaker's home team is veddy smaht...
There used to be a team in Thunder Bay, Canada called the Whiskey-Jacks, which is a far better name for Gray Jays

Naps would be too confusing because of the Nats in Washington.

The St. Louis Browns became what are now the Baltimore Orioles.
