As a former employee / manager with this particular outfit, unbearable stress is more than likely, aka, going postal.

As a currently working person in retail, people, on both sides of the counter, are very twitchy and this began roughly a year ago.  It has advanced to even greater intensity during the summer and leading up to the past election.

Now, people are beginning to snap.  Ordinary people are not immune from this stress and are just as likely to reach the breaking point and do things that are against their nature, as people who are in stressful situations because of their job.

There are plenty of things to witness on an everyday basis that will establish and reinforce an overwhelming sense of futility without any hope of resolution to be seen.  One result of this sensed futility is to assume that nothing will be fixed and that their is nothing more left to lose.  People who think that they have nothing to lose are going to be more likely to act out accordingly and do destructive / self destructive things not to mention criminal activities.  Also helps to facilitate anarchy eventually.

This is just the beginning, imho ...

Yeah, but that doesn't fit his xenophobic narrative, so...

I found some info suggesting ALL Fentanyl related ODs average about 175/day, but that's not factoring in Halloween and unwary children, so where'd that number come from?

"June 3, 2022, was National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
By then, there were already 235 mass shootings in the United States since the start of the year.
If that pace continues, there will be 586 mass shootings in America by New Year’s Eve.

As shocking as those gun violence statistics are, they would be an improvement over the prior two years.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, there were 692 mass shootings in 2021, and 610 in 2020.

And these numbers don’t include the roughly 20,000 other gun homicides, 25,000 gun suicides and 115,000 non-fatal gun injuries—including the 18,000 children shot and killed or wounded every year."

We don't need any kind of firing squad. It lives among us.

Go ahead and get get hung up on the Halloween thing.  I just mentioned it as an example, not a point.

The point was that we cannot walk and chew gum anymore.

As far as daily deaths are concerned, guns are way down from Fentanyl.  And the only reason that Fentanyl deaths are so profound and widespread is because of our wide open border.

No one wants to discuss that part of it.

I don't see any of the regulars in this thread showing any spontaneous concern for the OD's anywhere around here, which kill far more people on a daily basis and is even just as tragic if not more tragic than gun deaths, especially when a high percentage of gun deaths are crime and gang related shootings.  The OD's are not the result of violence.  Perhaps that is why it is less important to everyone ?  Not as much a social justice or virtue signaling kind of a thing.  Not enough to be gained by mentioning it ...
.
So keep on posting the grisly headlines as a virtue signaling exercise.  It is hollow and meaningless when put into this perspective.

Defunding and shaming the police has consequences.  The higher frequency of shootings can be directly related to this.  Yet it is those of the party that called for it who are also the ones complaining about the results.

Where's a good circular firing squad when we need one ?

More importantly, which drug addicts/dealers are spending extra to try and get kids to ingest them?  Fentanyl costs $2-$3 per pill.  Seems unlikely that drug trade people are going to throw away a few hundred dollars attempting to either kill or "hook" addicts, by exposing themselves to a group of strangers and risk losing their very profitable businesses.  The notion of the guy handing out joints across from the elementary school is just too easy to pass up for a good round of conspiracy.

This is the problem with demonizing people. It leads to assuming irrational behaviour.

On a similar theme, I do not understand the material incentive to cut cocaine with fentanyl.   Strikes me as a really bad business plan.

You really need to stop watching Fox news.

There are several reasons why the "rainbow fentanyl" Halloween scare is totally overblown.  First, kids have been warned of Halloween candy (see: razor blades) since I was a kid.  Parents check candy.

Oh yeah...rainbow fentanyl has been around for years, and in many ways is probably much safer than it being white (for example, you can't cut it and mix it easily).

Is fentanyl a problem...yes.  Is it a threat to Halloween? No.   More kids will die being shot by someone without a background check that night than will from pills.

No, we cannot walk and chew gum at the same time.  The guy y'all voted for made sure.  No one gets locked up for criminal activity anymore and the borders are wide fucking open.  3 million people crossing last fiscal year wide open.

There is no crime if there's no time, so they run wild and then we get told over and over again that the border is secure and the fentanyl comes flying in dressed up as candy.  Gonna be lot's of dead kiddies the morning after Halloween.  Either shot or poisoned.

The guy who shot the nurses in Dallas had a flipping ankle bracelet on.  The system does not work anymore and it is intentional.  Defund the police is 100% a democrat creation.
