That's what ART truly is: To show us something in a manner we've never 'seen' before. An artist's perception; interpretation.

As a retired Science Textbook Illustrator, It's one thing to have the talent to replicate; but to express a previously unknown sense of texture, color, a different perspective and expression of any image is real Creativity, imho. (Monet, Van Gogh, Picasso) Well trained, one can become a musical instrument prodigy,  but cannot write the inspiring music to express itself. Talent is one thing; true Creativity doesn't always bundle with it.

“That which we do not bring to consciousness appears in our lives as fate.”

“Unfortunately there can be no doubt that man is, on the whole, less good than he imagines himself or wants to be. Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. At all counts, it forms an unconscious snag, thwarting our most well-meant intentions.”

“‘This City. These People. All Sheep, And I Am Their Shepherd,’

Says Eric Adams, Looking Out Over New York” The Onion
“Without me, without my power and my will, each of these 8 million souls would be condemned to a wretched life and death amidst a twisted, seething cesspool of humanity. As they cling to a crumbling precipice, they reach out, in their desperation, to the one man whose whims control their destiny: to me, to their protector, to New York’s greatest benefactor, to Eric Adams!” At press time, sources reported Adam had retired for the night to his apartment in New Jersey.” • New Jersey? Maybe. Do readers have more current information?

Suicide rates among people with cancer were notably higher in the United States than in Europe, Asia or Australia, the study found. The authors speculated that the high cost of health care in the United States might have led some patients to forgo treatment to avoid bankrupting their families. They also wondered if easier access to firearms in the United States compared to countries in other world regions could have contributed to the higher suicide rates.

The challenges we currently face will be conquered and then they
will be replaced by new ones. This is the cycle of change and the
fulcrum of growth that has brought us where we are today.

No Way to Spend a Life

“I think I essentially made a mistake in staying in movies but it’s a mistake I can’t regret because it’s like saying I shouldn’t have stayed married to that woman but I did because I love her. I would have been more successful if I hadn’t been married to her, you know. I would have been more successful if I’d left movies immediately, stayed in the theatre, gone into politics, written, anything. I’ve wasted a greater part of my life looking for money and trying to get along, trying to make my work from this terribly expensive paintbox which is a movie. And I’ve spent too much energy on things that have nothing to do with making a movie. It’s about two percent movie-making and ninety-eight percent hustling. It’s no way to spend a life.”

“Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone;
For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air;
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care.

Rejoice, and men will seek you;
Grieve, and they turn and go;
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all,—
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life’s gall.

Feast, and your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a large and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain. ”

We have a stop serving beginning at 9pm here in Greensboro. I'm not sure about NC in general.
Anyhow about 8:30 I ran (drove) up my local brewpub which has a great outdoor setup and stage to catch the end of a jazz gig by local college students. They had drums, bass fiddle, electric guitar and trumpet. Sounded great.
I had time for one beautiful hazy IPA and listened til 9, when they stopped.
Though there's no alcohol served after 9,the brewpub
doesn't close until 10 so a bit of an open jam was suggested. A couple of kids were messing around and I walked up and asked if they minded if I sat in on harp.
They were excited and I have to say that made me feel good.
Anyhow we broke into a jazz funk fusion thing that flowed like freedom. I was in love with the moment and by the chemistry I could tell they were too.
We ripped it for 6 or 7 minutes and faded beautifully.
all this applause erupted and I swear I didn't realize how many people were out there.

Anyhow the quote is
" Opportunity only dances with you when you're already on the dance floor"

square one.

sounds righteous...
