Years, days, makes no difference to me babe
You look exactly the same to me
Ain't no time, crossing your legs inside the diner
Raising your coffee to your lips, the steam

You saw the masterpiece, she looks a lot like you
Wrapping her left arm around your right
Ready to walk you through the night

You whisper to a restless ear, "can you get me out of here?
This place smells like piss and beer, can you get me out?"
You were asking me, how to get you free
I only know the recipe to roam

You saw the masterpiece, she looks a lot like you
Wrapping her left arm around your right
Ready to walk you through the night

Old stars
Filling up my throat
You gave em to me when I was born
Now they're coming out
Laying there on the hospital bed your eyes were narrow, blue and red
You took a draw of breath and said to me

You saw the masterpiece, she looks a lot like me
Wrapping my left arm round your right
Ready to walk you through the night

Old friends, old mothers, dogs and brothers
There's only so much letting go you can ask someone to do
So I keep you by my side, I will not give you to the tide
I'll even walk you in my stride, Marie

Cause I saw the masterpiece, she looks a lot like you
Wrapping your left arm round my right
Ready to walk me through the night

It's a song about her grandmother, "masterpiece" was what her grandmother called her.
HOT DAMN this bangs!
I love it
so weird.  so good.
Is this a masterpiece? I'm not sure. But it's awesome! Raised my 7 to an 8!
Man this song was just on yesterday and the day before.
Absolutely love it. Thank you RP for another superb introduction
i can't get enough of this band. love it.
How did I not know Big Thief before and why are they so good?
Never heard this crew before - solid 7. Could’ve been from the 90s, but still sounds fresh, somehow.

Adrianne is such a joyful free spirit.  A most welcome fresh breeze.  More please ...

does "Not" get played? i love that one.

this one is just lovely, too. for some reason it makes me cry.
Gotta love how "piss and beer" is sung all pretty and sweet.
This band has a very distinctive sound

"Piss and beer".  Ah, so she's a poet.
Is the pool of music available to Radio Paradise becoming smaller? I usually have the Main Mix playing while I work. I'm surprised by how frequently I'm hearing the same songs, including this one.

Second Big Thief track of the day...what's it mean, Bill?  What's it mean?

I think it means Big Thief is an amazing band.
This is now a 9 for me, up from an 8. I am really digging this band. Yet another band that I probably never would have heard if it weren't for Radio Paradise!
hmmm - hearing more big thief lately - I am starting to like it! Thanks BillG and Rebecca for always keeping it rolling and rocking

I hear White Stripes. New band to me and I think RP.
I'm digging the Jenny Lewis meets Steve Earle sound they're rocking here... Cool! Definitely fun to embrace new music after the lost years we've been through!
