Sometimes I wanna take you down
Sometime I wanna get you low
Brush your hair back from your eyes
Take you down let the river flow
Sometimes I go and walk the street
Behind a green sheet of glass
A million miles below their feet
A million miles, a million miles
I'll be with you, girl, like being low
Hey, hey, hey like being stoned
I'll be with you, girl, like being low
Hey, hey, hey like being stoned
A million poppies gonna make me sleep
Just one rose it knows your name
The fruit is rusting on the vine
A fruit is calling from the trees
Hey don't you wanna go down
Like some junky cosmonaut
A million miles below their feet
A million miles, a million miles
I'll be with you, girl, like being low
Hey, hey, hey like being stoned
I'll be with you, girl, like being low
Hey, hey, hey like being stoned
Blue, blue is the sun
Brown, brown is the sky
Green, green are her eyes
A million miles, a million miles
Hey don't you wanna go down
Like some disgraced cosmonaut
A million miles below their feet
A million miles, a million miles
I'll be with you, girl, like being low

OK, so is this just the members of Camper Van Beethoven or are they just stealing someone's sound?

Hmmmm. Is "being low" the opposite of "being high?"

I still like rock and roll the best, but I listen to a fair amount of classical music and thanks to RP, world music. Haven't quite gotten to opera yet. I figured I'd know I was an adult when I started to like martinis. Still waiting for my first one.

Johnny Hickman & David Lowery put on one hell of a good show live!

Sometimes I just think about this song on and off for days then it'll play, either on my iPod or on RP, and I'll say, damn, I love this song! Rock n Roll anthem from '93

I just found this on Spin from a couple of years ago: Cracker Look Back at 20 Years of ‘Low’
Starting off, I really love Cracker. A great second act from Lowery after Camper. Seeing Camper with Cracker is always a lot of fun.
That being said, Lowery is a fanatic about music sharing, compensation for artists, and Spotify/Pandora/etc. While I generally agree with him, he gets very, very preachy and his positions have been a bit of a turn off. I'm totally cool with artists protecting their intellectual property and agree that the pay model seems to be broken (like when Low gets played 1m times on Spotify and he gets like $5.00), but I have to tune it out sometimes.

Ahh....the really good Cracker! Such a great album.
amazing transition after Ghost Riders.....
One of the few, if any, Cracker outputs I really like. That's what's great about RP for me: everything has merit in some some way if I keep an open mind, be patient, and enjoy the ride—good things will come…and come.
Always loved this album.
Now that's a cracker
Every party I ever threw this (since it was released) had this as part of it.

You gotta be a pretty heavy cut to sound Bad after "Waitin' for My Man". I give it a 7+ just for that fact.

soundin good tonight.....
Funny after "The Court Of The Crimson King". Like it.
It's great track. Were it dug out of the archive as a previously unheard long lost Nirvana outtake, there would be much fawning going on. Yes, it sounds like loads of other rock tracks, but lets face it, they all share DNA. So what?
Stands test of time and still sounds good LOUD.

I saw Cracker in concert way back in lie 94-it might have been the first one I went to...they opened for Gin Blossoms, who then opened for Spin Doctors. Cracker was better than both IMO!

The song is called Low but it gets me high.
This CD has a pretty neat hidden track at the end called Eurotrash Girl.

This is really weird. I remember seeing a poster for Duluth, Minnesota's Green Man Festival...maybe 2004. The acts went as follows: Willie Nelson, Cracker, Low, Trampled by Turtles....etc. Cracker - Low ignited that memory. Weird.

Nope, back then, terrestrial radio beat this to death, despite my ONLY listening to radio in the car while driving (about 30 min a day).
In 1993, when this was released, there wasn't much choice. No internet radio yet.
Face it, this isn't Cracker's finest hour, either.
Cracker is great, and have great songs, but their guitarist has always impressed me with his strength. To see this band live it to wonder who is actually the front man of the band. I have seen them in Tucson a few times, always great fun.

I blew a chance to see them a few years ago in a small, bar venue. One of my great concert mistakes I've made. Drat.
