The wind is telling stories about us
Writing words in sand and powdered dust
Deserted squares and lonesome trees
The wind revealing stories about us

Fall is telling stories about us
Writing words with leaves and powdered dust
Multicoloured lanes of trees
Mesmerising stories about us

We all float
Clouds of gold
Mountains make the sun arise
Your rainbow coloured eyes can change the tide

We all float
Clouds of gold
Mountains make the sun arise
Your rainbow coloured eyes can change the tide

The river telling stories about us
Writing words in water full of lust
Yellow purple green or blue
Drip by drip revealing things on you

We all float
Clouds of gold
Mountains make the sun arise
Your rainbow coloured eyes can change the tide

We all float
Clouds of gold
Mountains make the sun arise
Your rainbow coloured eyes can change the tide

Mountains make the sun arise
Your rainbow coloured eyes can change the tide

According to Wikipedia, this was never a single for the band. That's a miss.

No longer here.  Perhaps too old and rolled off the end of the memory stack?

When you're down here you'll float, too

Europe is definitely on the cutting edge these days.

Yes, for Hooverphonic this has been since 1995.

Apparently this is a band from northern Belgium.  It's interesting how nowadays these bands not only sound American but could go toe-to-toe with most US bands.  I remember decades ago tuning around on the radio in Germany and most music at the time sounded kind of provincial and old fashioned.  Europe is definitely on the cutting edge these days.
Aural treacle for the lug'oles.

Perfect music.

Ya know, this is okay.  But, if I never heard again, would I miss it?  Nah, not likely.

I followed this band from its beginnings in trip-hop. They seldom disappointed until there last 2 albums when they just fell off the chair. I miss the "old" Hooverphonic.

This song is from what I consider there golden period. Two cd's with the exact same songs each cd mixed/played in very different ways. A great conceit that they mostly pulled off.

Got one chance to see them - as the opening act for BT back inn '00 and there encore song was a lounge-style cover of "Inna-Gadda-Da-Via." It stood out to say the least.

All credibility is out the door when you don't know the difference between there and their.
This is one of my all-time favorite songs of any artist. So moody.
Does this album title mean they're not going to do "Love Is Like Oxygen" anymore? I still like them.
I'm a fan of Hooverphonic in all their phases. It does seem, though, like they're the starter band for female Belgian singers.  They've been through Esther Lybeert (looks quite young in promo photos), Liesje Sadonius (20 when she started), Geike Arnaert (18), Noemie Wolfs (22), and now Luka Cruysberghs (17).

until this moment, this was my only exposure to hooverphonic, which i quite liked... from Stealing Beauty soundtrack. I like this song better, though the title makes me want to hear PJHarvey's We Float.

LOL!!  I remember seeing a sign at a restaurant's bar, it read:  "Drink Special for Women with Nuts" - not sure if a comma would have helped there!

This is why punctuation matters. One silly little comma in this case:
Dave, Alvin and The Chipmunks Sing "The Songs of George Harrison."

{#Lol} Mind you, there was a sinister clown in the sewer in Stephen King's It.
Just went to find Hooverphonic "We All Float" on Spotify -- not available.  Flipped over to Radio Paradise, and guess what's playing?  Coincidence, or does Radio Paradise just know what I want to listen to before I do?  Must send more $$$ support to RP.

GoldHooverPortisFrapPhonicHead! My favorite!
For some reason the lead singer reminds me of a young Davy Jones from the Monkees (!)  The group is better, of course....
I'd have liked the song better if the band was called "Hooverpants".
After awhile at a gooood party we sure do!
charming Euro flavor

Feeble, derivative, sounds like half-hearted Sgt. Pepper.  Really, I wish hipsters had the courage to do something, anything, with spirit, energy, originality, sincerity.  This song makes me think ironic detachment is the dead-end of "cool."
She sounds like she smokes a pack of Camel's every day.  It sounds great!

And what's up with the "Dutch treat" which is NO TREAT AT ALL!

English rivalry with the Netherlands especially during the period of the Anglo-Dutch Wars gave rise to several phrases including Dutch that promote certain negative stereotypes. Examples include Dutch oven, Dutch courage, Dutch uncle and Dutch wife.

Anyone know where one can legally download this song? Not on iTunes, amazon, etc...

I just recently bought this album after hearing several songs here on RP and it's become one of those albums that we have to be careful to not overplay.  Every song on both discs is good.  Got it used on Amazon for about seven bucks (click through from RP of course).
Love Hooverphonic...great choice

You're helping educate and even out the experience by playing as many female artists as you do. Thanks again.

Edit:  Got the dualdisc version of this.  NICE!  25K worth of Bryston/PMC + Hooverphonic = !

a breath of fresh air after that horrible Ono influenced shite from Basement Jaxx. . .

Someone was spouting off about my criticism of The Cranberries, esp. the singers forced accent. I give as Exhibit 1, Hooverphonic. I hear no accent. They could be from L.A.or South Africa for all I know. {#Ass}
love this one live too

What a nice transition on this 8th day of January, 2010:

:: David Bowie - Changes

:: Eilen Jewell - Dusty Boxcar Wall

:: The The - The Whisperers

:: ... and now this one ... {#Clap}

.. which is why I listen to RP ... thanks Bill!
