Guess thats what garycha means by "loose 'n' dirty"

It's probably surprising the album ever got made in the first place, seeing as when and where it was recorded.
See the DVD on the making of the album - "discordant mess" or "loose 'n' dirty" indeed.
But hey, I like this album and all the albums before it.  Afterwards they started to lose me.

YEEEES!
Not my favorite Stones track, but this sounds a bit different than what I remember from years ago, a little nicer.  And Rondstadt's is a really excellent version.
Very very nice playlist! Great Otis Redding and the Stones!

The masters of loose'n' dirty at their very best.  Timeless

Ummmm....Blues and Motown is where most of the early English invasion inspiration, and lots of its material, came from. It took the English to show us Americans the incredible art we had in our own backyard but couldn't (wouldn't) see because it was from the wrong side of the tracks.

You have a selective memory.  Elvis was doing it long before the Brit invasion.

The Rolling Stones - "Tumbling Dice" Live

"Think this was the show in 94, in Miami."      Heliass94

"It's amazing the way The Stones have that totally unique thing going...I mean everything just totally fits...the sound, the looks the songs. There's just nothing like The Rolling F***in'Stones."

I love her version. Bill's got it in the library...

I had to scroll down to through many replies to this comment to get to the source and then I see yer from Cincy.
And that answered my question.

More masters...never a complaint with the stones but here's a question - How does Mick Jagger get together with David Bowie and make a crap song?
The original "Hard to Handle" and then this - nice playlist.

Sounds good.

But it looks as if Bill just arranged that. Sorry, Brian. RIP.

His majesty, Prince Jones, smiled as he moved among the crowd....down in Monterey.

and No Static At All?
the old station in N.O. I once listened to would play Linda's version

Reminds me of an old quote, that of Count Bassie I believe. When asked what music he listened to, his reply was:

"There's good music, and bad music. I listen to the good music."

And after many, many Hours of Listening, I can attest. Radio Paradise plays the GOOD music!!

Way to go gang at RP. We love ya.

Passion for the Stones runs high among RP listeners! I have to agree w/these posts—this is an excellent song and Exile I have loved from the start. It is on my list of all-time favorite albums, and it was fun to read what people said about Tumbling Dice, fun song.

I think it belongs here too! I think a clarification is in order. This is an eclectic rock station, but that just means an interesting MIX of good rock music (whatever the dj decides is good... and the dj decided this is a good song.) Even if it's top 40, and you may have heard it 100,000 times, it isnt automatic that it shouldnt be included here. I think eclectic can include hits, as long as they aren't back to back.

Definitely one of their better albums, with nary a bad cut.
Yeah, they were good.........

kinda burned out on this song... however its still between and 9 and 10.
Play 'Dead Flowers' or 'Far Away Eyes' at a bar, say it's the Stones, and see how many drinks you win!
I just gotta say how much I love the The Glimmer Twins for being the TOTAL package. Any lyrical topic in any musical style. The Greatest Rock and Roll Band, hah!! The Greatest Band, period.
No, this is not country. Its perhaps remotely country-inspired, but listen to that beat, people. Rock at its best.
I was watching the movie FM recently and it features a pretty decent rendition of this by Linda Ronstadt.

Wow, with 86 total ratings as of right now, I have given this the lowest rating, with a 5! I've never seen such a consistent set of ratings on RP! As for me, I've just never much liked the Stones, and there are a number of Stones tunes I like more... Stray Cat Blues is pretty good, for example.
Crank it up, this is one bitchin Stones tune
Go Bill Go! Otis and the Stones. I just finished my taxes and this is the treat I get! YEA!

Bill, you're killing me! Otis Redding's "Hard to Handle," followed by this!!!!!! A woman's got to leave for work at some point!!!!
The best cover.

It's definitely in the top 3. I gotta go with Let it Bleed as Numero Uno.

This song, along with Monkey Man, are my two favorite Rolling Stones songs.
