Let me take you baby
Down to the river bed
Got to tell you somethin
Go right to your head

Cause I, I got a line
I got a line on you, babe
I, I got a line on you
I got a line on you

Gotta put your arms around me
With every bit of your love
If you know what to do
I'll make love to you
Cause you got the right line to make it through these times

Cause I, I got a line
I got a line on you, babe
I, I got a line on you
I got a line on you

You know my winter's almost over
My summer, she's comin' on strong
I can love you, love you, love you
Love you all year long

Cause I, I got a line
I got a line on you, babe
I, I got a line on you
I got a line on you

I got a line on you babe

Has anyone else noticed that sometimes these songs were better before you knew what all the lyrics are?  :^)
Watched "Echo in the Canyon" the other day and really enjoyed it. One thing  disappointed me though. When it was stated that the movie "Model Shop" was the inspiration to make the documentary, I was stoked there would be some mention of Spirit since they contributed music to the soundtrack of that movie. They even showed some clips of the movie that included Spirit performing and Jay Ferguson at a piano - no Spirit music at all however....

Funny! And even funnier cuz BillG played "Sniffin' the Tears" as a follow-up to this today.
I went 8 to 9 on this one today; Long Live RP!!
{#Devil_pimp}still zesty ! now maybe some jo jo gunn !
This is one of those songs ......   I need to hear the entire brilliant album after this teaser. One of my all time favorites from - wow - 1968.
"You know my winter's almost over

This needs to be back in rotation! I just got a new amp that goes to 11.

This is one of those songs that demands loudness. If you're home, you have to turn up the stereo and dance. If you're driving, you have to push those Klipsh speakers to the limit and cheerfully risk a speeding ticket.  I've done both. I just love the heck out of this song.

Spirit of Rock people!
Still only 127 plays...deserves quadruple amount on the back list - 8 > 9.  Thank you!

I own this on a Viet Nam tribute compilation C.D.  It is followed by a gem called 'Are you ready'(long version) by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company..I'd love to hear that one on R.P. as well

I Love PG&E! I still have the vinyl.

Yep that was one fine album.  Had it on both 8-track AND 4-track (how many remember those, eh?).  I was under the apprehension that PG&E had to change their name after some kind of bullshit lawsuit from the "real" PG&E.  Oh, and speaking of the Real PG&E, when I was a kid, my buddy Waddy Tufford and I managed to sneak into the PG&E electric generating plant down near the Pacific Coast Highway in San Diego — right off of Broadway at about 2d Street I think, and stroll around for quite awhile until we found the employee's break room and started helping ourselves to the free sodas.  I mean, it was really a cool place, all kinds of humming and crackling and huge signs saying "danger".  Can you imagine that today?  Aside from the SWAT folks shooting us, we'd be serving the rest of our teenage lives in durance vile and being cavity searched.

Mr. Fixit, you do have an odd fixation with that cavity, don't you?  {#Wink}

Ooops I spilled my coke!

The band's name got me under the table!

how can one not crank this one up! {#Dancingbanana}
Had they played Woodstock (as planned) and waited until the public caught up to "12 Dreams".

What might have been...
9 → 10

Oh to be back in the 70's  {#Music}
Never gets old
Just sending a little love Spirit's way.
Listen to that crazy geetar squeeling in the background... wow!
This song resulted in some frenzied dancing back around, mmm ...1970 on what I barely recall as the *best night of my life* - when the world was young.
Covered by who-knows-how-many bar bands - good, old track.
Agreed! But I have a version by Quick Silver Messenger from some festival that is a few beats slower but incredibly rocks. It is my fav version of this now. Willing to share if anyone wants it.

My dad worked for PG&E back in the heady days of "Don't be a dishwasher. Buy one!" Of course Mom did the dishes.

Ah yes, Pigs, Goats and Elephants.  That's what we called it as kids.

My mom still uses a recipe for Fudge Pie she got from their bills back in the 50's.

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

And this song simply rocks.  Got to see them live for the 12 Dreams tour.  And Jo Jo Gunn a little later.

This one gets a 10 if only for the guitar solo, one of very few in my personal pantheon of "Solos Perfect for the Song."
Groooovy!

Thanks Bill!

Man that's a name I hadn't thought about for a LONG time... probably because I had PG&E on 8-track. I sure don't miss the that tech—I owned Craig, Muntz and other car players, even bought an 8-track recorder for the house and of course it's all long gone. Had to have been the worst storage and playback medium ever. Record companies should have been forced to provide free replacements (vinyl) for every case turned in due to warble, or heat damage, or songs broken up by track changes, or twisted chewed-up tape... and of course now I have a hankering to hear that PG&E again. {#Lol}

What a song! Randy California was a guitarist extraordinaire!
A 10 from me - all day long.

I've always loved this song. . .

If it's not already in the rotation, submit it!  We can't hear music unless RPeeps submit music.  That's what I love (and sometimes hate) about this place...

This is one of those songs that demands loudness. If you're home, you have to turn up the stereo and dance. If you're driving, you have to push those Klipsh speakers to the limit and cheerfully risk a speeding ticket.  I've done both. I just love the heck out of this song.

Right on! Amazing what you hear in the background. And if you like this song, look for it by Quick Silver Messenger Service in a Festival Concert—I snagged it years ago, by accident. A few beats slower, but OMG, amazing! Email me if you want the mp3 copy I got.
