Great film…I didn’t realize Peter Gabriel did the soundtrack

His sampling of the Blind Boys of Alabama from Sky Blue never gets old.
Borrrrring.

I like the original version of the song. This one has too many of those rhythm bits.
This song, this movie, cuts to the heart. I'm not a religious man, but I am spiritual. This speaks to my spirit every time I hear it. I cry every time. Thank Bill and Rebecca.

I tuned out until the Blind Boys of Alabama started up.... then tuned out again when they stopped. I love Sky Blue, but what is this?
There is a PSD Button, use it.
I do not like this song, even though I love Peter Gabriels Work. This one reminds me of Söhne Mannheims - Xavier Naidoo - in particular. A German Singer/Songwriter and Band who is constantly trying to bring People to God with his Songs. I cant stand it. And I wish there was a PSD Button when ever I hear him coming on somewhere.

Where is the vote for 11?? One of the most haunting pieces of music ever written. I get chills every time I hear it and to have it pop up randomly on someone else's playlist is amazing Thank you!

Not familiar with the movie, so without knowing the context, this is ok.
Not a song that I would put on a playlist to hear on a regular basis.

I really love Peter's instrumentals, and this is no exception. I can understand why it would be a very acquired taste, though.
Without all the "ohs," this would be great. As is, blah.
HOOOOO-HUMMMMM 3
The only good thing about this song is how little we actually hear PG's irritating voice.

its the song that never ends, it goes on and on, my friends....
Has a similar annoying-ness to the Atlanta Braves fans chanting with their tomahawk chops.
Way too repetitive for my taste.

Peter Gabriel is, by far, one of my favorite artists. However, when anyone recycles a piece of music, I find it cheapens the work. I guess that because of the age we live in, you could just call it "sampling" and that makes it okay. It doesn't mean that I have to like it. We live in an time of artistic recycling, from movies to music and I really don't think that it has helped evolve any art form.

This needs to be heard in the context of the movie Rabbit-Proof Fence, where its sad and yearning mood is an excellent fit.

Well, the back cover lists it as "Ngankarrparni - Sky Blue reprise" (even though the "Long Walk Home" soundtrack came out before the album "Up"). I guess it just uses same Blind Boys & Peter vocals.
Is this a remix of "Sky Blue" by PG and the Blind Boys of Alabama??

There is a track on Sufjan Steven's "All Delighted People" EP that sounds a bit like this.

Haven't heard this one before. I love PG's trippy stuff like this.
Hey this isn't so bad. Consider it an instrumental and it isn't all that repetitive. It's not nearly as over-dramatic as "I Heave" or any of the junk from last temptation. It works good in the headphones. It has a little Massive Attack to it and just a tiny hint of Atom Heart Mother to me anyway.
This film was so incredibly and unforgettably powerful - the music fit the mood so perfectly.
After this last set of Joohnny Cash, Talking heads, David Bowie and Peter Gabriel.....I'm outta here!! (temporarily of course) Switch...

I guess it is easy to say stuff like 'repetitive and 'overblown' but difficult to say something positive.

I think that it should be acknowledged that this practice has a long history from such musical "hacks" as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Richard Strauss, Sir Edward Elgar, etc. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musical_quotation). Taking a passage of music and using it in a different context is not necessarily a bad thing if the rest of the piece is original enough to support it.

The coupling of aboriginal chant with black gospel influence is very nice.
I understand the criticisms but I take this tune in the context of Gabriel's great body of work, the depths of emotion he goes to, and viewed in that light it is definitely worthwhile.
I never tire of this. In any version. With any ending. 9

I'm certain this song is great in context, but right now I am working late and it's putting me to sleep! Throw me a pick-me-up, would ya, Bill?
PG is an acquired taste. I personally love a lot of his work, but can see how this would bore the tears out of someone. It's probably not he best song to put into a music rotation since it fits in a soundtrack mode better. Still, Gabriel's body of work is pretty awesome stuff on the whole. And that's is one gnarly song name....sat that five times fast ;-)
This really helped finish up "Sky Blue", but as a stand-alone tune, it's just too repetetive and ...well, dull. Probably fits in great with the movie, which I guess I'll have to check out, now.

A rare event when listening to RP: I turned down the volume because the song was giving me a headache.
Typical Gabriel, overblown.
All five of these emotions are elicited in me as I suffer through this song

Repetitive as all hell.
As a standalone song, I'm neutral. But this was a perfect fit as part of the Gabriel soundtrack for Rabbit-Proof Fence, a moving and powerful film.
