Drink up baby down,
Mmm, are you in or are you out?
Leave your things behind,
'Cause it's all going off without you,
Excuse me, too busy,
You're writing your tragedy,
These mishaps you bubble wrap,
When you've no idea what you're like.

So let go, so let go, hmm jump in,
Oh well whatcha waiting for? it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown,
So let go, yeah let go, just get in,
Oh it's so amazing here, it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown.

It gains the more it gives,
And then it rises with the fall,
So hand me that remote,
Can't you see that all that stuff's a sideshow?
Such boundless pleasure,
We've no time for later now,
You can't await your own arrival,
You've twenty seconds to comply.

So let go, so let go 'n' jump in,
Oh well whatcha waiting for? it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown
So let go, yeah let go, just get in,
Oh, it's so amazing here, it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown.

So let go, hmm jump in,
Oh well whatcha waiting for? it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown,
So let go, yeah let go, just get in,
Oh it's so amazing here, it's alright,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown.

In the breakdown,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown,
Yeah, the breakdown,
So amazing here,
'Cause there's beauty in the breakdown.

On the album cover...

What's that in the window??

It was Halloween last night
This song is pretty great -- but it hit the nostalgia nail on the head for me today -- hence the 10.
Check out her Tiny Desk performance if you never saw it - it's a nice little peek inside her brain. Also Guy Sigsworth (the other half of Frou Frou) makes an appearance. :)

This is just one song from a masterful album.
Every cut is great.
Check it out.
Check this out...
Imogen Heap and Jeff Beck "Blanket" at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club with a young Tal Wilkenfeld on bass.

This album is a classic
Every song is great

What a beautiful voice!

Great scene when this song was used in "Garden State". I just love this song.

Garden State was a GREAT soundtrack of the early aughts! Almost 20 years old now (ouch!), it came out in the same year that I found RP, and perhaps not coincidentally it is full of artists one still finds on RP (and served as my first introduction to a few of them):

Bonnie Somerville
Cary Brothers with Jason Kanakis
Coldplay
Colin Hay
Frou Frou
Iron & Wine
Nick Drake
Remy Zero
Simon & Garfunkel
The Shins
Thievery Corporation
Zero 7
EXCELLENT!  Thanx RP!
Needed to hear this today. Sometimes there is beauty in the breakdown.
Had to do a double take. Doppelganger for Katherine Moennig in The L Word.

i love Imo!!

Very good comment! I rated this Song with an 8. I never post negative comments! If i don´t like a song i rate it with a 5. It is a personal help for me, because if it is played the next time i see the yellow heart and click the PSD Button. But this don´t happen to often. Long live RP!

hahaha - some days i hear something and it touches me somewhere. other days I look at something I rated >/= 7 and ask WTF? almost always look at lyrics to see if there was something speaking to me that day. or a sound maybe making me nostalgic. love the station for this reason...

greetings, so many wonderful words for this wonderful music by so many wonderful musicians from all parts of our beloved planet,
I love the music, and in deepest gratitude to Bill and Rebecca,
BUT, I am always blown away and love to watch the slideshow with each and every tune - incomparable visual candy . . .
how on this earth to you do this? Jedi mind tricks?

That bass.
"20 seconds to comply" - there's definitely a need for more RoboCop references to be used in music 😁👍

Not to mention....Ms. Heap was one of the "populars" of the 60's era that, not only made it through that period but, still sounds as good today, as she ever did!! Yes!! More Frou Frou, please!!

She must have been some sort of child prodigy to have done that, given that she was born in 1977.

Excellent!
This song came on and sounded fresh and promising a surprising soft jolt after Pretty Bird and checked out the sassy cover photo as the beat progressed and felt gratitude yet again that RadioParadise is ONE place where there is a BALANCE of male/female artists and many unfamiliar (women) artists are featured. Then glance over to yet another immediate bad rash of criticism/comparisons/curmudgeonly griping predictably and unreasonably directed against women, against the unfamiliar, demanding: Who are they ripping off,  What right do they have, They can't be original, WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE? Kneejerk jerk comments no based in musicology -- the word for it is misogyny. It's also tone deafness, the number of times some listeners insist that female voices sound like someone else -- but never consider they may sound exactly like themselves.
Great scene when this song was used in "Garden State". I just love this song.
yes - IH is fantastic
This is my Imogen. That's like Plant.

You will not be disappointed. The entire album is amazing!
Absolutely one of the greatest records of the 2000s.  Kind of a one-off between Imogene Heap (who's amazing) and Guy Sigsworth (yeah: Bjork, Seal, Alanis Morsisette, etc.).  Really kind of stunning music, and peerless production.

I've hear this song so many times but could never find out who and what it was. Thank you Radio Paradise!
Saw her show earlier this year.  She is the real deal and explained a bit about the technology she uses.  She was a joy to listen to, and I can't imagine anyone coming away with a negative opinion of her talents.
Awesome sound, great lyrics. Always loved this song. Brilliant.

If we are forbidden from being critical, then maybe Bill should rename the "add your comment" button to the "add your praise" button.
is there any way I get the new player not to show these whiny inane comments?
Have always liked the song--lyrics are very insightful.

Dude, the song was recorded in 2002.  This is the future.  'Nuff said.

It's healthy to hear opposing opinions.  Yes she is pop leaning, HOWEVER, she is a multi instrumentalist and even makes her own instruments.  Her vocal style is unique and has graced the likes of Jeff Beck.  (rollin & tumblin)   You might youtube "live at Ronnie Scott's" with Jeff Beck and Imogen Heap.  The woman is the real deal.  Just sayin'
I really like Imogen Heap. Every other modern day female singer seems to be trying to emulate her.

This song was always such a false-positive. It's awesome, the rest of the album made me keep hitting the right-arrow for NEXT

I find that I enjoy this song a lot more now that it's not played as often, and since the hype from "Garden State" has died down. I liked it before, but I like it even more now when I hear it.

ahhh!  It IS Imogen!  Fabulous, cause I was jonesin' for some more tunes by her - thanks to RP for tuning me into this wonderful artist.

I like this tune alot, but somehow it seems just as pretentious as the movie it's the ending theme for.

Oh well...as long as that person singing is a woman. Please.
Big crowded arrangements are a bold gamble but for me it works here, mostly on the strength of the vocal.  I have this and all of Imo's other CDs.

Is this Imogen Heap?

That's Guy Sigsworth, the other half of Frou Frou, standing in the left window.

Anyways, I love this song. Awesome song from a incredible album. {#Notworthy}

I often find her silly, childish, awkward, and pretentious.

But there's no doubting that this is a beautiful song.
