Promises, promises
I'm feeling burned
You taught me a lesson
I didn't want to learn

Why did I come here?
Please tell me again
Why did you ask me?
Don't say you forget

I long for, I long for
I long for my home
I long for a land where
No man was ever known

With no neurosis
No psychosis
No psychoanalysis
And no sadness

I'll pick up the pieces
I'll carry on somehow
Tape the broken parts together
And limp this love around

Limp this love around

seems to have been out of rotation for a while
glad it's back
don't understand the negative fuzz below
a simple, well written, ease of mind song, imho
Please play this!
I dont get the hate for this song. Its a good not great song .Grant it ,its not one of her best songs
And Id love to boink Ms Harvey
Don't think anyone will ever accuse PJ of selling out...
I was holding it together until the autoharp at the end and then lost my breakfast
I enjoy this song. It really wouldn't be PJ if it were upbeat. I quite like her... in small doses :)

Everytime this song starts, I think my computer is crashing.... That sound, you know?

UGH
Mmmmm... creepy. Kind of makes me picture an alternate wild west, where a showdown at high noon would involve two very morose men, who contemplate for a moment the thought of shooting the other, until each man decides to turn his gun on himself. It'd make crappy TV, but it's a cute image.
wah! more crybaby poor me dreadful suck ass poop. F!
:sunny.gif: real nice ....
ahhhh make it stop mommy
Last 3 tunes: toes tapping, feeling pretty good, getting work done This tune: staring off into space, kinda melancholic, don't really feel like working, I think I just need to crawl into bed, sigh.....

AMEN 2 at best
Argh. How absolutely dreadful!
8-< :?:
I wouldn't go so far as to compare it to a fat cat's yowling, but this is just not working for me. Leaves that much more for everyone else, I guess.

There are many icons you can use for this song. This is not one of them.
Muting. Seriously... (muted) Ahhhhh.
Kinda liked it until the "no psychoanalysis" part. It's almost impossible to use the word "psychoanalysis" gracefully.
i'm not sleeping- this is great!
please play some really loud stuff after this to wake me up....

I had the same impression at first. But it is definitely growing on me. She went back to the raw energy of her earlier work. Not as sophisticated to some extent as To Bring You My Love and STCSFTS, but still very good.
I love most of her albums, I'll get used to this one too, but it's relative, right... Sometimes she even sounds like Sonic Youth on this one... :D
oh my gawd that's boring.

Strange album this, nothing like STCSFTS, but more like Is This Desire?, which disappointed a bit too after To Bring You My Love...

"Is This Desire" grew on me after a while. Maybe this one would, too.

What happened to all the the energy from "Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea"?

This is the first track I've heard off her new album, and I'm disappointed. I kept expecting the song to build or at least develop, but she just keeps singing the same three notes. What happened to all the the energy from "Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea"?
