Great album front to back. One of their best.
The base line, rhythm and voice work sometimes reminds me of late Cat Stevens in a good way...

I normally dislike the lead vocals of Midnight Oil (in the same way I dislike Mick Jagger's voice), but I think it works well with this song.  The backing vocals and loud instruments help carry the song.  I love the passion & message in all of Midnight Oil's albums, though.

Unfortunately, I have to agree despite being a fan of Midnight Oil. I like a lot of their stuff, but this falls flat for me. No worries though, plenty of other good stuff available from both Midnight Oil and on RP.

This album didn't get as much recognition as their previous work.  IMHO, it was excellent.  Love this band.  If they are still touring - GO see them live!
These guys have really matured in the second half of their career.   The whole album is great.

The live DVD / Cd is awesome.  Get it if only for Redneck Wonderland.
This song is the most haunting on this album. 
See, you would just never get a cut like this anywhere else. I remember having a single tape of this back in high school, a B-side of Truganini, I think

OK they are both good albums but let's hear it for 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 and for the Oils in general.  Shame old Pete couldn't deliver politically to the lofty heights of his idealism and music.

Was never really in to midnight oil and their political BS but now garrett is a usless politician I can only guess he was well supported musically by the rest of the band, what a shame for us in oz he is still not in the music business.

This entire album was sadly overlooked.  Not as accessible as Diesel & Dust (although that's nearly a given), but certainly as rewarding a listen as Blue Sky Mining - lots of cool tracks.

Neat. I find a lot of Midnight Oil to be busy and overdone, but this is set back a bit, with some subtlety to it.

I do so vehemently agree coloradojohn, what a powerful force de force they have been for the Rights of the Aboriginal people and the Environment in general and to see them live in concert is a never to be forgotten experience!

Loved this album when it came out, but haven't listened to it for about 10 years. Then last week I was going through my CDs and pulled this one out. excellent collection of songs. It's great to rediscover an album - like listening to it again for the first time.

I'm with you on this one - I think pretty much this whole album is excellent, but I'm not much of a fan otherwise.
This is one of the best songs on one of the best albums of all time - for anyone - and hearing it here is making me a dedicated listener for good. If you haven't heard Earth & Sun & Moon all the way through go get it now, put on some headphones, and be amazed. Also one of the best live bands ever, alas no more....

Believe it or not, I first saw them on American Bandstand. Dick Clark seemed to like them...
From Miss Chaos to this just didn't do it for me. I'll have to listen to it another time in another setting to decide how I like it.
haven't heard this since i saw them on tour with this album, an outdoor concert in July, the sun setting on PG's bald head. this song has a quiet majesty about it and I would also love to hear "my country".
If only the Oils had gotten together with Public Enemy...
My favorite of the Midnight Oil albums....a real classic cd that will always be one of my desert island discs. Outstanding song writing, and talented musicians make up one of the best bands ever.
