All your gifts come out of hell
You brought them back for love
Throw a bucket down into your well
You fill it with your blood

And you let it go
With the greatest ease
Cause something always stays the same
And always seems

With the need you never fill
Try to leave before it come
Like a man you've paid to kill
Asking you what should be done

And you let it go
With the greatest ease
Cause something always stays the same
And always seems

Sun down on a shady grin
Shaking hands on a sinking ship
Prostitute and a poison friend
Telling you you'll never quit

was worried that rp had started playing marilyn manson
Late-blooming Nine Inch Nails clone. A poor one, at that.
Thought I was hearing Digging in the Dirt from PG starting up. DISSAPOINTED!! Then I opened my mind as well as my ears and enjoyed...
It's not your usual cup o tea. But it is where I think contemporary "rock" is heading. Fuzzed out guitars, heavy rhythm, electro. influence, loops...
something about this is getting at me...in a good way.

An incredible disk, and very powerful, dark, depressing lyrics as only Joseph Arthur can write. If you like heavy folk with beats and depressing lyrics, this one is for you. Sorta original, but with Peter Gabriel influences. Also, had a friend to see this guy in concert. He said he was amazing, but met him after the show and the guy seemed half-dead, in an outer space zone, and seemed depressed. What a surprise.
Yeah, I get PG... on "WIPE OUT THE NOISE!"
damn fine stuff. i think it's time to troll the couch for spare change and go buy this one already.
I agree that "To me it's like emptying a bucket of garden garbage. Contenless. No coherence. Just a bundle of sounds and a voice that doesn't fit to it."

Funny. I don't hear Gabriel at all. Not even in the faintest distance, or any resemblance but that it is also a male voice. I love Gabriel, but I don't dig this. Neither dark nor Powerful. To me it's like emptying a bucket of garden garbage. Contenless. No coherence. Just a bundle of sounds and a voice that doesn't fit to it.

Maybe a little bit in the music, not on the singing style...Is Tony Levin included in the credits?
No Tony Levin.

Just picked up this disc this week-- great stuff. Anyone hear a little Peter Gabriel influence in this track? JA was first discovered by Gabriel and, though no longer on his label, it sure sounds like some influence carries on.

thought it was marilyn manson.
