We find the seeds of doubt
Don't water them with your tears
Don't think about all the years you'd rather be without
Eden lets me in
I find the seeds of love
And climb upon the highwire
I kiss and tell all my fears
CHORUS
Falling down the mountain
End up kissing dirt
Look a little closer
Sometimes it wouldn't hurt
Do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do, playing in the dirt
We find the seeds of fun
Do-do-do-do, and we scream like alleycats
Do-do-do-do, tearing down what we attack
To prove that we are one
VERSE 4
Cutting through the night
We find the seeds of lust
And lose our minds on one intent
These passions never seem to end
CHORUS
You know it wouldn't hurt
Hey
CHORUS
I said get up, get up, get up
Get up to the top, yeah
I'm falling down the mountain
End up kissing dirt, yeah
I'm falling, falling
Yeah, yeah, yeah
VERSE 4
CHORUS
Just the one idea really, that band. Vastly overrated.
GREAT TUNE!! If you don't like it, hit the "skip button". ...problem solved!
33 year old album! How can I possibly be that old? Seems like a couple weeks ago I was listening to this on my Walkman.... still sounds awesome
agreed. i remember when their first hit was on the radio when i was in high school. i was hooked immediately.

75 million discs sold yep lmao your wrong!
I guess that you did not play the cassette enough!
They get played here; there are at least a dozen Midnight Oil tunes on the playlist.
Sadly nothing from 10 to 1 though!
Might need to do a little more research kangoid
On a side note I heard these guys tried to get back together and called Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, etc.) to see if he'd replace their lead singer. He laughed and laughed before he declined.
Yeah Paton said:
Patton apparently even went so far as to badmouth the group on
Australian radio, making a tasteless joke in the process. "The DJ kept
pressing it and pressing it," Patton recalled, mimicking an
Australian accent: "'What do you mean you said no? You didn't even
consider it?' And I said, 'Would you?' And he said, 'Of course, they are
one of the most prestigious Australian acts,' blah blah blah. He'd ask
me a few other questions, and then he'd go back to it. 'So really, about
that INXS thing ...' I said, 'OK, look. I did consider it. I
told them that the only way I would do it was if I came on stage and
could rig up a noose and hang myself while I was singing.'"
As it turned out, that joke went out on national radio during National Suicide Awareness Week—and while Michael Hutchence's parents were listening, no less
He sounds like a real piece of ...work... this Mike Patton. Of course with your equally tasteless offering, I guess the 2 of you would make good company.
Bought my DX21 in 1987, but I was using it for the fretless band sound with a TR-505, our band was called "Remember". The 80s were definitely a parenthesis of heaven, at least musically. By the way, I had completely forgotten this song, thanks RP.
You might
remember
... wait that's another song.

Thanks for that live review—I've always kind of admired them, and like some of their songs, but generally couldn't make it all the way through any of their albums without dumping out.
Radio Paradise has deemed only 1 cut of theirs worthy, and it's the last on this "Greatest Hits" package:
Track Listing1 - Public Image2 - Death Disco3 - Memories4 - Careering5 - Flowers Of Romance6 - This Is Not A Love Song7 - Rise8 - Home9 - Seattle10 - The Body11 - Rules And Regulations12 - Disappointed13 - Warrior14 - Don't Ask Me
Rumor has it they're coming back for more fun—
>>John Lydon, the guy that used to front the Sex Pistols and go by Johnny Rotten, has announced that his band Public Image Ltd. will release a new album titled This Is PiL at some point in 2012. NME reported yesterday that the Lydon-fronted art-punks have been working on the album for the past two years. It will be their first since 1992's That What Is Not.
Lydon talked to BBC 6Music about the album, where he said he had to tour for two years to raise funds to cover the recording costs.
"I was always full of ideas, but I had to wait until I had enough money to release an album," Lydon told the BBC. "Everybody thinks I made such a fortune with the Sex Pistols. Well, unfortunately that is not true."
I was at that show in NYC, and it was great, Crazy mixed crowd of big hair from Long Island and Jersey and the PIL punks still trying to hold on.
Great music Bill, you make the long hours in the office most pleasant. Thank you.
i love this song.
Falling down the Mountain
Anarchists and Ducks
I used to listen to this album a lot, but I don't necessarily think this is their best....
...and better was to come on "Kick" and "X".
This one's easily worthy of a seven - no less.
Today INXS may be written off as something from a far off time and land (and their current pursuits to don't so them any favors) but for most of the 1980s they could do no wrong. I really wish we would have had the opportunity to see how they could have evolved with a healthy, happy Hutchence, but it wasn't to be.
i agree with your first paragraph word for word!! same for me!
and feel the same way about your 2nd.

I saw PIL around 1990 or '91, in NYC - they had quite a talented, well-rehearsed band, which enabled Lydon to run all over the stage being "theatrical". I can't speak for all of their shows, but that one was quite good.

Well said
Ouch. Black humour at its best.

Can you enlighten me on just what a PiL show was like circa the mid-80's? For some reason, I picture sloppiness personified.
I saw the Kick tour in Chicago ~ they played everything including the Lost Boys soundtrack stuff
~ PIL opened
Loved that movie and the music. Especially liked Echo and the Bunnymen's cover of People are Strange.

AMEN. they were such an underrated band, and i think michael was one of the best frontmen ever.
Is essentially just another mindless opinion. Anyone with "TEX" in their username bespeaks ignorance.
Kinda like our leader, George the idiot.
INXS are no more corporate than U2. And both were good bands in their time. Unfortunately for us, Micheal succumbed to his fears.
Please- if you are going to call out ignorance, don't embody it. George was pretty pathetic, though.
my friend's sister did it with him when they were on tour.. he kicked her ass right out afterwards. i think he was kind of a douche.
regardless i've always loved their music, regardless of how suburban and blonde it makes me feel.
first CD i ever bought - my fave too! although Shabooh Shoobah is its twin, i still play them both frequently ... there are only six INXS tracks on RP, none from their first three albums
Yeah.
Right. Naked. With no suicuide note. Look up autoerotic asphyxiation.
Thanks for the education. Seriously. I will never look at situations like this again. Makes me appreciate (and miss Michael) all the move.
And then we hear about David Carradine.
Drug abuse is so much more preferable (and socially tolerated).
