Sort of Radiohead and Portishead vibe about this which matches the time that this was released... 2004.

I think I like it now for its nostalgic sound but I may not have liked it at the time - just shows you to always keep an open mind :)

It's like Ian Brown jamming with an uninspired Radiohead.  Interesting if slightly over produced tune. 

I loved the first Stone Roses album, The Second Coming was much less exciting.  I've only heard a small amount of his solo stuff, but what I have heard I've liked.

Dude, time to lay off the repeat button. You play any song more than once a day for a year, and its going to seem humdrum, because by that point it IS. That's the whole point of RP and eclectic radio. If the rest of Ian Brown's styles were this good, I'm sure Bill would sample more. But I'll take this, every few weeks, just fine in the mix. On another website it states he was born in Warrington, England, this date in 1963. So not only are you all correct about north of England (between Manchester and Liverpool), but today is his birthday.
