For three strange days
I had no obligations
My mind was a blur
I did not know what to do
And I think I lost myself
When I lost my motivation
Now I'm walking 'round the city
Just waiting to come to
For three strange...

For three strange days
Well I couldn't put a smile on my face
So they dressed me up in all of their clothes
And took me somewhere else
And Johnny Clueless was there
With his simulated wood grain
So I pulled up a chair
And started drinking by myself
For three strange...

And I've got to make it through
No matter what it takes
I've got to make it through
These strange days

Well I lay down for a while
And I woke up on the ocean
Floating on my back
And staring at the gray
It was completely still
Except the pounding of my heart
Bringing me back to life
From three strange days
Three strange...
Three strange days
Three strange days

The entire album is great. So is the second one. I saw them live at The Vatican here in Houston, 1993 or so.

YEs! Love that song.
Great lost song. glad you are playing it.

No buddy belied me till I said a friend's name over the broadcast (I never talk) Great Song  PS I can't believe, so many had a comment.   Great song

Same here!
Somewhere around the summer 1993 A pretty girl by the name of Stephanie made me a mixed tape with this song on it. She also introduced me to Primus by taking me to Lalapalooza. Great memories!

This song simply sucks!
Josh Clayton-Felt was a diamond in the rough, cut down way too young. Lot of fond memories tied up in this song for me... pop radio or not.

Watched the video for this the other day on YouTube. Kinda dragged but this song was cool when it came out. Shame they didn't come up with anything else...

I saw Cheap Trick at the height of their popularity. Saw the concert, and then Rick Nielson showed up at the club I was at after the show. Got to have a drink with him. But got to disagree respectfully that the band sounds like Cheap Trick.

Underlying guitar riff is killer. School of rock 101.  Nicely done.
Now how about Three Days by Jane's Addiction?
Close my eyes, sit back, crank up the volume on the headphones, and let the goosebumps cover my body.  Very few songs deserve my 10 - this is one of them.
Strange days indeed. I’m so glad to find this here. It is a brilliant and perfect, yes, pop song. Not a thing in the world wrong with that.

Hope to “see” you all on the other side of these strange days.
I remember the first time I heard this back in 1992 on a college radio station back in  NJ. I was like, Wow, this is cool!
Brilliant out-of-left-field segue: "Running One" from "Run Lola Run" soundtrack => this.

A shame this band was pretty much a one-hit wonder. It was quite a hit.

Big Rating Points because, I have never heard of a band called "School of Fish" but....song kinda sucks 😕

Whoa, long time, no hear. Loved this when it came out, still do.
rythm guitar, bass & drums kick !!
Awesome song!
This is a great CD that I have kept in rotation for years. It's sad that they weren't able to create more music.

When we finally started to hear less of G N' R..thank Dawg.

I remember seeing these guys on MTV back in the early 90's. At the time, this was a new sound added to the cool grunge stuff coming out of Seattle...softer, fun grunge that counterbalanced the heaviness of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Tool. Liked it then and like it now. For those in the peanut gallery who are shouting that these guys have no talent, this was actually kind of innovative as the grunge scene was unfolding.
Kind of smokin'! Nothing special, but still it would go quite well with Irish whiskey and a beer! It's on my to-get list. I could give a shit if Stingray doesn't like it.

Sounds like days long-long gone!

Like a surburban JOURNEY Revival Band or school-friends!

SIMPLETONS without the slightest bit of melody!

I like this. Does anyone know if the album is any good?
i like it
i think this could have been left back on the shelf in 1991.
Like a lot of tunes, it is good to hear.  I give a 7, but if it was played all the time it would drop like a rock.
Listenable on the first or first few tries. Then it might be a bit....monotonous. But I like that grinding kick-ass guitar.

School-band style!

TERRIBLE!

School of fish?

Why not "A Lodge of Beavers"...? Or "A Shrewdness of Apes"?

Or "A murder of Stingrays"...?

If I had 3 days without obligations, I would indeed consider those days strange.
Seems to be an alternate version, which I really like BTW.
Great segway

Me like. Smokin' ride-the-bike-earphones-blasting music.

This song isn't the highest caliber maybe, but it's not Boys2Men either.

Nice song, but when I hear the opening riff I always hope it's "All I Really Want" for a change.
Mainstream?  Guilty Pleasure?  Generic?

3 strange comments.
I consider this a guilty pleasure. I just always liked it..cannot explain why.

This comment will be disingenuous because I am not familiar with School of Fish, and I totally have a hole in my musical head because I lived outside the US for thirteen years. I feel like I can't bitch about this song, because it was released well before I left the States.

Now that I have that out of the way, this song sucks. It just sucks.

"Simulated wood grain."

I had to shut the door of my office so I could max out my computer speakers and bang my head and play DESK DRUMS!

This song freaking rocks.

I love this. I love this. I love this.  Dancing, creating, wishing I could hear it about a hundred more times (as I drag my mouse away from a kitten who's discovered that the black cord is a fun thing to yank.)  Geez - having kittens is a bit like having a five-year-old child. Can't take your concentration away for a single second, or they'll make the mouse disappear, or why in the hell is that dish towel in here?

Trying to make intelligent comments on the music, but I have a house full of foster cats, and the dynamic is messing with my objectivity.  But I really do love this song.

'Scuse me.  Gotta go stop a gang-war now.

I seem to recall this track being a favorite of hipster bar DJs back in my old college town. Liked it then, like it now.
A few chords, a little drinkin' lyrics, not great but enjoyed listening to it.
8 for the guitar riffs

- 5 for the banal lyrics

= 3

Maybe in outer mongolia it was but not where I was living at the time.
As I said - college radio was the only place to hear it.
Don't matter when or where or how many, top forty or not, this is still purdy solid. {#Arrowl}  {#Arrowu}  {#Motor}

I've never heard this song before. I'm not kidding. (I get a pass, because I listened to college radio and the Grateful Dead from 1987-1991, and CDs until 1993, and then I moved to France, where there was a black hole of music.)

That said, this kind of sucks.

So what?  It's still a fun song.  Just because you heard it on the radio doesn't mean it's bad.

LOVE this song! That guitar tone is just incredible.

very fun -> 9!
I am REALLY dating myself here but I am the only old guy out there that suddenly had a flashback (the good kind, not the bad kind) of Grand Funk Railroad?

These riffs and the lead singer wailing sure reminds me of about 1969 when I actually had hair.

Nice guitar sound.
Josh Clayton-Felt went on to make a solo album (Inarticulate Nature Boy) that's really good, but unfortunately some number of years ago he died. Young, of course. Very sad.

One of my favorites amongst the many obscure songs that RP has turned me on to!
And love that Amazon link.  It is ex$psively easy but it keeps me in great music!

Thanks for this one!
A great tune!  Guitar sounds are really good.  Tone tone tone!
OMGawd!!! :)

I never thought i would hear this song ever again (since '91), let alone on the "radio".
And its not like its all that great or anything.
But wow,,, quite the flash back.

RP continues to impress.

A blast from the past.
Damn!  I always forget how great this song is until the next time I hear it.  Outstanding!

Wow. I have not heard this song in about a dozen years!! Thanks Bill!

Definitely a long weekend road-trip tune.
I'm impressed that someone else actually knows this band.  I loved them way back when.. and I never really heard them on any radio station.  Good job at having them in your playlist!
Forgive my noobness, but damn! What an unconsciousness raising segue into riffbürg!
PS: Who rated this a ONE?!!?
this is such an awesome tune! I first heard it back in 1989-90 on a college radio station in NJ. I went right out to the music store and bought the EP. Haven't listened to it in awhile - good to hear it here.
