We saw this band a couple weeks ago as an opener for the amazing Grace Jones at the Hollywood Bowl. Dengue Fever were pretty good, although the large venue seemed to overwhelm their sound a bit. If they were to play at a smaller venue, I'd definitely check them out. Although I've heard them fairly often here on RP, my wife had not, but was still intrigued with their sound enough to give them an overall thumbs-up.
I'm beginning to dig this group...Cambodian Rock w/Psychedelic influences performed by a largely Jewish band and an attractive Cambodian female lead singer...what's not to like, eh?

sounds like Yoko Ono's been busy... and not in a good way- Please never play this again....please....
Out of curiosity I went through all the Dengue Fever songs on RP and found a total of one which wasn't pretty widely despised... interesting
I like it, but this sounds like an mp3 compressed past the standards of RP: the cymbals get all mushy and hissy during the chorus.

Yep! Well said. This is exactly why I come to RP. Long live diversity in all forms!
Once again...where else would you hear something like this? Point and Match!! Thumbs up RP

This sounds very foreign to me.
(Don't say it, Romey, just DON'T SAY IT!)

Awesome band.

Here we are again one month later. Once a month is too often. Once a lifetime is too often. My ears are bleeding. Nooooooo........
From the wonderfully smooth Mr Mark Knopfler, to this. Omigod make it stop.

Interesting. I'm gonna have to say No. I'll give it another listen.
It's really rather cool...
Yeah, that rocks quite a bit.
Once again...where else would you hear something like this? Point and Match!! Thumbs up RP

Yup. Apparently I wasn't in the right mood when I first heard this. 2->8

6->7, because of that little sax diddy at the very end.

Yep, I'll 3rd that. I just love these kinds of surprises, which you'd never get on a standard FM station. This is fun, as are the other DF tracks that've been on here :o)
Somehow... it's why I love Radio Paradise. It's a bizarre niche thing that I love songs like this, I don't expect everybody else to... but there IS a portion of listeners on this station that can ONLY get this stuff here, and for that... I'm very thankful.

This rocks!
Gee, I think I met her at a bar called "We 4 U" in Bangkok. Two blocks off the skytrain in Sukhomvit. "NaNa" stop hmm. crazy.
I don't have a clue what she is saying, and I don't give a damn, either. It just ROCKS.
Not sure why, have no idea what she is singing, but this music makes me happy...... and I want to have a martini.
The text on the CD is kind of hard to read, so I'm not surprised the uploader misread it, but it's Sni Bong, not Sui Bong.
Could the uploader (or Bill) correct this please?
Could the uploader (or Bill) correct this please?
I 2nd that, and it's one of my main reasons for listening!

Plus... it's a really nice segue to Talking Heads "Listening Wind"
Nice Bill...

Came here... loving this song.
Expecting a 5.6 or so for this one... and I was high with it at 5.2.

Har. You funny. I saw them live a few months ago. What a fun night. Nobody brought a bong, though.
It gets a 2 instead of 1 just because it has the word bong in the title.

Super Cool Bill! Nice set.
Oh my, someone stick a fork in my eye. Quick. I'm giving it a -17.

The dengue rash is characteristically bright red petechiae and usually appears first on the lower limbs and the chest; in some patients, it spreads to cover most of the body. There may also be gastritis with some combination of associated abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
I think Bill really likes Dengue Fever, for some reason. :P Me, I can take 'em or leave 'em.

Blech. I like the instrumentals but her voice grates on my ears.
Feels a little like this, eh?
12:20 pm - Dengue Fever - Sui Bong
12:15 pm - William Shatner - Common People
12:13 pm - Meghana Bhat - Really Really Happy
12:08 pm - Wes - Awa Awa
12:04 pm - Crowded House - Never Be The Same
Personally I am over Dengue Fever
This has gotta be the most screwed up block of music I've ever heard... only on RP
For the record, the title of this tune is "Sni Bong" not "Sui Bong."
It gets a 2 instead of 1 just because it has the word bong in the title.

Really, they're the same? Cool!
No, it was a question....I don't KNOW that, but it seems plausible. Dorian scale or something....

Thank you BillG. Where ELSE would you hear Dengue Fever?

That's just about what I meant to say. Don't know about adding to the rating, yet, but it's the second song I hear from these people, with just about the same feeling...
These guys have really grown on me. Pass the sui bong, please.

Uh, until she gets to the rap section. Definitely southeast Asian there...

This band is amazing live, do yourself a favor and see them if they are playing in your neighborhood!
a Dengue Fever song a day keeps the....
there was another track played yesterday that was a little better, but it certainly made me jump onto iTunes to see if it was available
i like the combination of the chantlike indian-styled vocals with a rockish treatment.

I'm really digging everything I'm hearing from them. Keep it coming, Bill!
nice teeth!!!
Chuckle, chuckle. Only a 2? Perhaps you're not using that bong thingy in the right manner.
