She's like a little bird
She flies from A to B
To see what she can see
She's far away from me
We danced on the moon
We danced by the sea
That land of blue gold
Is where we were free
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Where we were free
Where we were free
The shiny blackest crow
Flew in to say hello
Though much to her surprise
He had two mouths for eyes
She understood his words
That crow was very pleased
He gave to her his wings
And now she is free
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Now we are free
Now we are free
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Julie-lie-lie
Louder than
Louder than they know
Don't let them store in your skin
Don't let them lie on and then, run
You let me down
Get on the way
You let us down in here
You let us down, drowned in here
Hidden: a lie, within.

Thanks William. Made my Christmas Eve.
"Julie-lie-lie"
Nahh... this sounds like "July". Also listening to this on the last day of July.
Bill just keeps on doling out the good stuff!
oh I love this entire album… so fucking good

Oh how I love her so. What composition.
I wonder if Andy Partridge or Paul McCartney know of this. Surely Andy must.
This song has a repeating low bass beat that sounds like a cell phone on vibrate sitting on a table. I found myself continually checking to see if someone was calling me
Love when I hear a great song and then look it up on YouTube and find out that their live performance of that song is absolutely amazing. Incredible instrumentation and attention to detail.

She is a restless experimenter, yet she always retains her distinct persona. Great stuff on this album, but Goldfrapp's last two albums have been even more interesting to me.

Alison! See my post of June 4, 2016!

just perfect
Alison!!! Marry me!!!
Oooh yes, I'm quite liking this dreamy, soaring track today...
"How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people?"........
enchanting
Some of her songs transport me to dreamy lands, mostly because of her voice. I wonder how much of that is just due to technology. All in all, greatly produced, pienso ...

Before I even read the comments, I said to myself, "I hear the late 60's". This is interesting.

Confusing... Somewhere I think this is wonderful, but on the other hand I feel I shouldn't like it, since it's not really the style of music I normally like. I think I'll have to listen a few times again, to see if it grows on me or not. Now a 7, maybe more later...

Great song. Dedicated to Andrew Branhagen. Rest In Peace youngman. A beautiful young life will be missed.

Dreamy trippyness. That's a perfect description. I like this song, at this moment, because the sun has just set, the weather is gorgeous, the birds are still singing outside my window, all my cats are zonked out and snoring contentedly, and I'm done for the day. The music fits in nicely with my wind-down phase...

Love Goldfrapp too. Does anyone else hear "Dear Prudence" in this besides me and Bill?

Spot on about the Cocteau Twins comment. The last bit of the song is very like them. Absolutely love this song.
There's some real plundering going in here - the bastard child of the Beatles and the Cocteau Twins - but REALLY nicely put together.

Have not tired of this flightly tune and still loving the transition bits
About the album art: Goldie Hawn has held up well. Looking hot.
Oh, and yeah, I thought this was Cocteau Twins, too. Sort of etheral, I like it.

I was joking about the look of the cover art, not the music. Why are you making a connection between the two and, worse, assuming that I am doing the same?

First time listening to this song, waiting for that trippy ending everyone talks about in this thread.
