Was it loneliness that brought you here
Broken and weak
Was it tiredness that made you sleep
Have you lost your will to speak
Was the earth spinning round
Were you falling through the ground
As the world came tumbling down
You prayed to God what have we done

Free me from these chains I need to change my way
Heal these broken wings I need to fly far away, far away, far away

Was it emptiness that made you weep
No more secrets to keep
Was it bitterness that gave you time
To forgive your sins
Was the earth spinning round
Were you falling through the ground
As the world came tumbling down
You prayed to God what have we done

Free me from these chains I need to change my way
Heal these broken wings I need to fly far away
Free me from these thoughts long forgotten down below
Take these angel's words give them life to carry on, carry on, carry on
Free me from these chains...

A very “Air”y bass line.
New album out (finally).  Solid.  It will grow on me.  Thank you for the intro RP!
Reminds me of AIR

What a band. I found out about them in 2005. A huge fan ever since. I love the rotating female lead vocals. And the music is spectacular.
Spinning, song by Zero 7, see smooooooooth :)
Looks like this was a B-side to the I Have Seen single in the UK - was gonna say, this ain't on my Simple Things album! Wiki says it's on US and Japan versions - not a bad bonus track, eh?!

nice image - as i live on a ridge and the leaves are dead and blowing over the light snow; am watching the sun disappear behind clouds again but thankful it came out and started my day after 2 days of 'other'

I saw them twice live when they had all the singers oñ stage off these two outstanding albums.  They were brilliant live!

This can be kind of "mood" music, not always ideal for all situations and moods, but why (or how) would you listen to any music while vacuuming? Do you have some sort of "quiet-mode" vacuum cleaner which — while running — enables you to listen to music? Anyhow, what is good music to listen to while vacuuming?

This made me laugh cause, i'm a bloke, but if i want the hoovering done, (or 'vacuuming' over there i guess), then it'll be me doing it.
And the perfect music for that is 'Scooter', at ear splitting (drowning out the Henry Hoover) volume. For some reason it's all done really quick

If you've never heard of them try this - Scooter - Hyper Hyper

"are you ready for the sound of scooter?"
hoover on down....
This Song "Spinning" is not on the Album "Simple Things".
It is on the EP "I Have Seen" from 2001.

Only 65 comments?  That's all?  Rosalia has more comments in her songs.  I wonder if this song hasn't been getting much airplay.  It's been a longtime staple of Radio Paradise.

Now that noise cancelling  earphones are affordable ...

Thank you @billg for playing more of this artist. I only knew about "In the Waiting Line," but now I want to listen to the rest of the album.
Zero 7 in their heyday were unbeatable. This album is sublime, start to finish.

It is just you.
I have decent headphones and... no problem at all.
Check your device. It may happen when the low frequencies are badly reproduced... it happened to me with bad JBL headphones. The low freqs where very present but very unprecise... and were giving some wrong direction to the songs, giving the impression that the other intruments, including voices were all out of tune.

Paint all bands in a genre with the same brush after seeing just ONE.  Generalization must be your thing.

@BillG Are there any RP worthy tracks from Binns' latest work with "Equador"?
Zero7 + Sia is a delicious combo

nice 8 ...might check out more of them
I like chill music similar to this but then i like all kinds esp Led Zep having  being around when they were formed and one of the early Stones fans in '63
Chilled, pretty good but not their best work
Love this!!!

This music really depends on how my mood is... it cant change my mood... its not strong enough, yeah, its smooth and relaxing late at night with fire going, glass of wine, but if you are vacuuming, it's the worst muzak in the world. I have this album, and honestly, if I that laid back, I might as well take a nap... But I keep my Zero 7 just in case the mood is right. I would rather have a song that makes you change your mood instantaneously.

The vocalist Sophie Barker, who I prefer to the oft lauded Sia Furler.
Nish. Smooove... now where did I put my stool, glass of single malt and black polo neck?

This voice...this subtle but all-embracing beat...this lyrical message...this mesmerizing arrangement of delectable sounds...this is SPINNING me into carrying on, into the bittersweet currents of Life...

I must agree. I saw Hot Chip an it was disappointing their contact with the people.
Nice relaxing music to sit back and chill to. Then Cloud Cult came along and spoiled the mood.
perfect monday morning song - love her!

Saw Thievery @ Red Rocks last summer with Ghostland Observatory.  One of the top 3 best concerts I've ever seen.
Bad thing that every single album of Zero 7 is worse than the last.

Chemical Bros.  Non stop from start to finish with a lighting shown that isn't to be believed.

I have a mind to write them a stiff letter of complaint.

This is the sound of "Paradise Found", so smooth.  I could listen to this song over and over.  Amazing.

Heh - even Lester Bangs agreed with that. He went to a Kraftwerk show and was surprised at how much he enjoyed it. In fact I've always thought his opening line to that review was one of the best ever: "So we thought we'd get fcuked up and and go see a Kraftwerk show."

Thanks, I needed that.{#Chillpill}
BT was relatively impressive.  I say relatively because I had gone to see Hooverphonic and he blew them away (imho).  BT may fall more into a dance genre though, not sure.  But with one guy and a bunch of keyboards and samplers, I was very surprised at the amount of entertainment he delivered.

Yet another band I owe RP for introducing me to.

I love these sounds. Thank You

too much spinning can make you dizzy.  and then you get nauseous.  then you throw up.

This track is not on the European edition of this album. The US edition appears to have been merged with the "I Have Seen" EP, which also contains the other missing track, "Salt Water Sound".
