One of the most beautiful songs of the past 20 years. I have had the pleasure of seeing FF live, watching the band interacting gently but purposefully was intriguing.

Not that I've known a lot of them, but the musicians that I know are trying to experiment all the time. The keys are whether audiences appreciate their efforts (performed live? probably. recordings to a wider audience? much less likely) and whether a record company can capitalize on it.

I just can't help but love these guys. The lyrics are like tiny snippets from a larger story, and the music makes it feel more like a fable than anything. On top of that, they're very musically talented, and always play with interesting melodies and harmonies.
These guys and My Morning Jacket sound identical to me.

I use to listen to this album some time ago and appreciated to hear a song from time to time in RP. But this is becoming really boring after a few times ...
Sorry, sure I am repeating myself, but the harmonies always seem on the sharp side to me. It's a bit like fingernails on a blackboard to me.

Well the followup was Helplesness Blues which is actually pretty well represented here, if you are a regular listener you have probably heard something from that album already. I actually like that album better than this one. However, this was a couple of years ago and now they have dropped off the planet. From what I heard it is a combination of too many of these type of bands saturating the market and the lead singer is like totally full of himself and turns people off. Meh, whatever. I think they are OK, but if they don't generate enough interest to maintain a living through music no one said that was a right to be able to do that anyway, it is a priviledge.

Reading through some of the comments, I have to say that I side with those who say this is excellent. It is not main stream and it stands apart from most of the drivel you find in most of the pop-bands. I like!
This song and this band are just limp.

I've never heard this song or band before...and loved it. Maybe some things are just over-analyzed sometimes, or something...I don't get it. Maybe I'm just not real fond of overly mean-spirited judgements on art that many folks enjoy. If you don't like it, fine...but just move on!

Fleet Foxes creates some wonderful music. And is perfect for Radio Paradise. Mixed in with other awesome songs. But it is virtually impossible to listen to a Fleet Foxes album all the way through. Can't really explain it.

I do find their sound rather derivative of other groups - CSNY and My Morning Jacket especially - but this is breathtakingly beautiful, I may nevertheless wind up buying this album.
Looking forward to their new album. This song is wonderful, makes me want to get into the Mountains, I think will.
