The Vanilla Fudge cover...?-)

Absolutely. Took as long to write as it took to play the song through. Then add VSTs ad lib., until it's a dog's breakfast like this. No art, precious little skill, just background music for people playing on their phones.
"Set me free, why don't ya babe? Get out my life, why don't ya babe? You don't really love me, you just keep me hanging on?"
Well, crap. Thanks for that...

Better than you, man. <--- Borrowed from The Big Lebowski, but my point is that he's created something from nothing, and enough people like it that it's now playing on RP.
Sorry you don't like it or think it's an achievement. The first is your opinion, the latter is your mistake.

A price that high means that a third-party seller is involved (usually used product). That means the artist gets nothing.
We'd always rather have you buy music from the artist. Buying directly from the artist usually means that they get a *lot* more than if you buy via Amazon or whatever.
Good to know. Thanks Bill.
Still too bad that RP could not negotiate direct deals with artists like Douglas Appling, for example, and set up a direct link to the artist's website. RP would make money and over the longer run, smaller independent artists would make more money.
The transactions costs of what I am proposing may be daunting.
Now if I go to the artist's website.... I get it for USD$10 (or more). The artist gets a higher margin (perhaps) but RP gets nada.
Then I suppose the costs of negotiating click-thrus with individual Indie artists might be daunting.

Definitely. A world-weary lion wondering when all this nonsense will be over. (Not the song - I love it.)
I like this track well enough (7 rating from me) - the name seems like the opposite of my state's nickname (Evergreen vs Nevergreen) and near the end of the track I start to hear what could be a different segue to PF's "Several Species of Small Fury Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict" - that would be an interesting track to hear here on RP. Long Live RP!
*EDIT* ...or maybe the next track (Porcupine Tree's Cloud Zero) is the one that sounds like it could be matched with SSoSFAGTiaCaGwaP.....

My recommendation: "Soon It Will Be Cold Enough"
Thanks pankman. Others?
Nice catch! A refrain or two maybe.
So much for ambient music.... I have to stop and crank this up every time it comes across RP.

Then, by all means, buy direct from the artist.
So people: after Safe in the Steep Cliffs, what should my second Emancipator CD be? Suggestions? Recommendations?

I usually go for the less marketing thing myself so I might like the band.

Any thoughts on The Seven Seas CD?
Love this music but am not impressed by the lack of marketing acumen.

Agreed
I see my dog about to poop.

Bacon is a slice of burnt pig, but its still delicious in a sandwich. the heart likes what the heart likes.
I'm just sayin'.
Was just going to ask if anyone else saw the same thing.
Me, too. Cool track--drum machine notwithstanding.

Hmm, the guitar does sound a little like Vinny Martell's sound, but not the rest of the tune so much.
Chuck Norris' woodie has a woodie & it's bigger than yours...
Bruse Lee's woodie ate Chuck for desert.......
I would not of made that connection, although there may be a few chords that bring that to mind.
Maggot Brain = One great guitar solo. Bill, how about going off the deep end and giving Maggot Brain a spin. Mix it up with this and some Porcupine Tree.
edit: omg Bill you picked Porcupine Tree to follow this. This set is killer!
Looks like I already had this rated a 10.
Funny, I think I just figured out what the composer was trying to do.
What is that, then? Love this track, it sometimes sounds quite similar to Mike Oldfield's Songs of a Distant Earth.
Is it a lion, or a character from Avatar? Not sure. Of course, now I've forgotten what the song sounded like.

..even the disc covers sorta segue nicely..

Yes. This track is as good as anything as Air plays. Nice compliment.
Must check out the CD.
Agreed!
Wicked bass line.
Portland, Oregon, eh? Ya don't say.....

Defintely not. Whatever one sees.
My woodie is so big, I have to call it Mr. Woodie in public.
My woodie is so big, it doesn't return Speilburg's calls.
My woodie is so big, it has castors.
My woodie is so big, it only does one show a night.
My woodie is so big, Stephen Hawking has a theory about it.
Did Stephen call it ''A Brief History of a Woodie?''

Your woodie has legs? Interesting concept.

And apparently it's an 8. What a braggart! ; )
A woodie with 8 legs... Hmmmm

4th listen and it just grabbed me.
9 -> 10
Giutar sound is the same
Had to stop and crank this one up.
Nice ambience. Good story line.
It immediately reminds me of a Thirteen Senses track, or a Sigur Ros harmony, but I didn't have time to figure it out as I was about to go to work (Greenwich Mean time!). I'll have a listen tonight and report back here.
Try the track "Do no wrong" from "The Invitation" by Thirteen Senses.
Yup, I see the lion. Or maybe a charging buffalo?!

Oh, and yes, it's a lion in the cliffs.
Lions aren't what they used to be... My imagination is really running wild here, but i think i see a cliff...
Whatever it is... it's safe in it (the steep cliff ;)...
Announcer just said Emancipator is from Portland, OR.
Maybe it's a bear... or ...uh, steep cliff...
Oh, yeah... nice, relaxing music.

This is very nice.
A little techno, a little ambient, a little electronic, a little prog. With feeling.
