you sleepwalk through the rooms where you grew up
out through the porch and the old front doors
carried by words that you learned when you were small
down the stone steps and into the night
it's the boulevard and the hum of her hard lights
and when you open your eyes you're in central park
carried by the words that you learned when you woke up:
even though - i thought i was - all alone - i was wrong
even though - i thought i was - all alone - i am not
you can hurry home to mama and your house of doors
get the bolt in the hole and you can close all the windows
but keeping out the killers and keeping out the creeps
isn't keeping out the doubt and the disbelief
as they look for god in them ivory halls
you can see her on the porch, listening to the radio,
singing that wanderer's song:
even though - i thought i was - all alone - i was wrong
even though - i thought i was - all alone - i am not
even though - i thought i was - i was wrong - i am not
and even if - you're scared stiff - you can trust in this - you can trust in this
Yeah! Death to all fanatics!
Said with a degree of fanaticism. Gotta think Matthew is taking the piss.
anyone criticizing coldplay, dave matthews, this band, any pop… please go take your elitist asses over to some place that will cater to them . You people are seriously so irritating the jazz folks would hate you too.
I love how any dissenting opinion is told to just go eff themselves.../s
I actually dig this tune, but am so pissed off at the absolute assholery of people like this that it killed my vibe. Criticism is actually useful as it demands that the listener better engage with, or challenge that piece of art. Good criticism deepens our understanding of the item presented and contributes to that art form over time. It's not god damn elitist to examine things...it's intelligent and interesting. Otherwise, we're all just fucking robots attached to our feeding tubes automatically clicking our like-y buttons.

Really liked this band's music. Lucky to own one of their LPs and have seen them live. Shame they're still not together (well, at least for now...)!
They're too busy watching Shoresy.

I gave this a thumbs up. In truth I might have done it before but every time I read the last sentence I laugh out loud (that's LOL for you up and comers).
You opened my world to such I had never heard before
My feelings, exactly!
anything else from Seeds would be lovely to hear, too.
thanks for introducing Hey Rosetta to me many years ago.
I'm a sucker for those jangly, overdriven, arpeggiated guitar riffs.
Me too. Did you listen to Junge Junge?
So closer to Kings of Leon and Dave Matthews Band
Well said. Very middle of the road, non-offensive music, just like KOL or DM Band. Or Coldplay, for that matter. They all need a sharper musical edge.
yes thats true now that you mention it
Tautology though that be.
Agree and disagree, agree they are excellent live, disagree they are merely very good on this cut, it's a 10 in my book. and OMG were they good live. RIP

Totally sounds like Marc Cohn. I had to check the playlist to verify it was/wasnt .

"We"?
I wouldn't mind more Coldplay, but this isn't Coldplay.
Tautology though that be.
Wohoo! Then I'm not the only one.
kinda has a Mumford and Son of Dave Matthews sort of vibe
I can hear some of what you mean but I find this much less annoying (to me) than either of those bands - this sounds more melodic and less grating than most of the stuff from those other two acts.

Here it is. 'lily34' is referring to a previous comment about the 'Bandages' track.
this just made me fall in love with the band even more. ok, and fall a little for the lead guy, too. i may have found my new jeff buckley replacement.
seriously, though. this outfit is tight. love them!

That sound is in one of my favourite Radiohead songs. I forget which it was right now; I think one of the songs on The Bends. Nice Dream, maybe? Anyway, it's one of the reasons I've always liked the song so much.
same.

I'm pretty sure they're doing that on purpose - it easily avoided if desired. It doesn't bother me so much, but I could see how it could be distracting sometimes.
oh! I agree. I hate that sound. Pick up your fingers!
for any fans - they're playing a 75 minute set in ottowa soon - taking requests for other songs for their set list besides what's on Seeds via their facebook page.
funny how we all have differing opinions of the same kind of stuff - i've always enjoyed that sound.

damn...that would be killer. i LOVE gomez, never have been able to catch them live. and to see these guys open? i'd be in heaven. this band is one of my newest musical obsessions. can't get enough.
I was really pleased to hear Hey Rosetta! here a few minutes ago! Thank-you! Love them!
up from 8 to 9.
Really?
Man, you are spot on. The similarities are eerie.
Love it!
As for the pronunciations: my family's from there, so a little perspective...
Many people from outside Canada put the emphasis on "New". That's OK and it doesn't sound that weird.
But most people from Canada (and almost everybody on the island) put the emphasis on "land". So if you're looking to pick one, pick that one.
Just never put the emphasis on "found".
I disrespectfully disagree. The stress is on the first syllable.
This site agrees with the previous poster: https://www.ict4us.com/r.kuijt/en_newfoundland.htm
Bill, just a slight correction in your pronunciation of Newfoundland. The emphasis should be on land not new. It should be pronounced like understand - understand, Newfoundland.
Cheers,
PJB

Also, congrats on opening for Gomez.
